Wind-rain-snow-what else? The weather has been just crazy lately hasn't it? One day it snows - the next it rains - and the wind has been fierce. These photos were taken during the past couple of weeks when the waves on the beach were seen to go as high as even 10 feet. Wind demolished a birch tree in front of the Norwood Motel and ice seemed to be dangling on just about anything you cared to glance at. There were 22 participants competing for the hardware in the squash tournmanet in A and B divisions. O.P.P. officers in every corner of the pro- vince will be watching for people who take their holiday celebrations too far. As the Council mem- bers complete the first year of the term, Reeve Dave Speer has an- nounced a reshuffling of responsibility areas. The object of the exercise is to allow Councillors to expand their knowledge of specific areas of the municipal operation and to apply their talents to different types of issues. Councillor Joe Ken- nedy will be taking on the Airport as a special responsibility, while re- taining Public Works and the Cemetery. Councillor George Ramsay adds Social Ser- vices and Personnel to his portfolio, keeping Police as well. Councillor Ollie Chapman will continue in Finance and Recrea- tion and assume new responsibility for the Fire Department. Also on Recreation is Councillor Bill Houston, who in addi- tion to retaining respon- sibility for the Library, will take on the new job of reporting to Coun- cil on Hydro matters. Reeve Speer will con- tinue ex-officio as a member of all commit- tees, including special responsibility for Emer- gency Measures and Planning. On January ist, 1984, Councillor Ollie Chap- man will assume the role of Deputy Reeve, which is held on a three month rotation by each mem- ber of Council.
