As a result of a com- puter program error, the Ministry of Natural Re- sources will issue an estimated 12,500 addi- tional bull-cow valida- tion tags for the 1983 Ontario moose hunt, Na- tural Resources Minis- ter Alan Pope said to- day. Ironically, the com- puter program was pre- pared for the Ministry by a private computer firm to ensure complete fairness and objectivity in the selection of the 38,000 valiation tags. However, through an error in the computer program, the computer in some wildlife man- agement units has given a preponderance of vali- dation tags to older hunters.
