Fifteen teams were entered from Terrace Bay and Schreiber. Maurice Duffy organized the tournament and from the people I talked to, it was a great success. The Terrace Bay Community Church sports a few odd patches of primer, the first step of a complete paint job which is scheduled to take place very shortly. Just last year, the Terrace Bay Community Church received new roofing - an expensive venture and a time consuming job. This year, the church has scheduled a complete facelift for its exterior new scaffolding - out with the volunteers. Through sun, wind and rain, the church will soon display a fresh coat of paint. Jim Chapple, just one of the many who has volunteered his services for the exterior renovations, Facelift for Community Church mentioned that all the work is scheduled to take place on Wednesday nights and Saturdays. Up with the HARRY "YUSKINS Councillor Ollie Chapman pressed on at the last Terrace Bay Council Meeting in her campaign to have the Aguasabon Falls Trailer Park prosecuted for what she maintains is a violation of the Township's Zoning By-Law. Chapman gave notice on the Agenda that. she wished to raise the matter again. When Reeve Dave Speer opened the question for discussion she said, "It has been four weeks since our last regular council meeting, at which I presented to Council three resolutions regarding the issue of the Aguasabon Falls Trailer Park. -I have, at the last two council meetings, presented to you a summary of correspondence dat- ing back to 1973 anda review of the by- laws.' I have received no support from the members of Council to get this issue . settled. You have agreed that we have a problem regarding the by-law. That we have had that problem for a number of years, but so far you have not been willing to take any positive steps necessary to solve ae problem."' "In 'a further attempt to get the- Council to make a decision on_ the violation of by-law 318 as it applies to the Aguasabon Falls Trailer Park, I wish to make the following motion: '*Whereas it was never the intent to have .a permanent trailer park in: the township of Terrace Bay; and whereas the Aguasabon Falls Trailer Park is presently being operated in violation of by-law 318 of the Township of Terrace Bay; Therefore be it resolved that the owner of the Aguasabon Falls Trailer Park be _instructed to inform any persons living in the Aguasabon Falls Trailer Park on a permanent. basis that they must vacate said premises by October Ist, 1983, or Council will take the steps necessary to correct 'he situation by 2nforcing the Zoning - By-Law 318."' Reeve Speer said, '*O.K., Councillor Chapman has. a notion on the floor." Councillor George Ramsay interjected and said, "Is this the same motion we defeated.'? Chapman replied, "Yes, except that I have moved the month from September to October." Councillor Ramsay' turned towards the Reeve at the head of the table and said, "Well, I am going to have to ask the Chair for a ruling. If this is substantially the same motion, can it be presented again?"' Ramsay's point of ---- order led to a tense discussion on whether the motion was out of order or not. Councillor Joe Kennedy said that he did not think that the motion should be allowed on the table. He said that if the wording was not exactly the same, the effect was. Councillor Ramsay said, "I have to agree that the effect would be the same thing, -with all due respect to Councillor Chapman."' After considering the point, Reeve Speer said that he thought Councillor Ramsay's point was well taken and that a_ strict interpretation of the rules would prevent the matter being raised again once the Council had reached a decision on it by vote. However, he went on to say that "I am going to allow this to be discussed anyway."' The Reeve then called for a seconder to allow the motion to be opened for continued on page 10 North Shore Ambulance Service's operator, Pat Dingwell, said that the vehicle will be based at the hospital and will be used to lessen "response time in Terrace Bay and in the area east of Terrace Bay. The ambulance will also respond anywhere in the area (between the Steel Rivers) when it is needed, and they will be doing land transfers to Thunder Bay."' Dingwell said that he was pleased with the caliber of the new attendants. "We have a RN and a couple of. and Gravel. policemen and some people of MNR.. As soon as they have 'completed the course we will be able to get going." The attendants are being trained in cardio- pulmonary resuscita- tion, mini-Borden and the fundamentals of 'casuality care.
