Twenty-second prize of a lamp donated by Mac's service, a barbe- cue starter donated by Western Tire and a Bar- becue lighter fluid don- ated by John's Texaco were won by Glen Mc- Gee of Terrace Bay with a 5 ob 9 oz fish. Twenty-third prize was a cooler donated by Cur- rent River Fish Club was won by Lillian Ukranic of Schreiber with a five pound six ounce fish. Twenty-fourth prize of a barbecue starter donat- ed by Western Tire and lighter fluid donated by John's Texaco was won by David Brenner Jr. of Nipigon with a 5 Ib 6 oz trout. Twenty-fifth prize of Carling O'Keefe glasses were won by Bill Pylyck of Terrace Bay with a five pound two ounce trout. SPECIAL PRIZES First - for the last fish entered in the derby before the deadline of time was won by Horst Remus of Thunder Bay. He took home a fifty pound box of frest lake trout donated by the veteran commercial fisherman, William Schelling. The Mystery weight prize of a 3.5 _horse- power Mercury motor purchased from Wal- ker's Marine, a case of motor oil donated by Bob Adamo and a Carl- ing O'Keefe trophy were won by Wilfred Bertin of Marathon for a five pound trout. The lady catching a trout closest to but not over five pounds won the following prizes for a four pound seven ounce fish. Mrs. Nina Lapointe of Terrace: Bay won a Regal ten cup coffee maker donated by Voya- geur Restaurant, Schrei- ber, a plant rooter don- ated by Flowers N Things, G.H. Woods Mist Scents and a gift certificate from Prince Arthur Hotel. For a boy or girl twelves years or under who caught the largest fish was won by Kathy Bruley of Thunder Bay received a pogo stick donated by the Wind- jammer Gift Shop. Kathy is eight years old and her fish weighed in at three pounds fifteen ounces. Nine year old Kevin Beange of Nipigon won a canteen for his 10 pound two ounce trout. Weibanair mystery event - a sightseeing tour for up to five people in a Weibanair Beaver Aircraft was won by Serge Brisson of Ter- race Bay. Towne Cinema special was won by Bob Piduzny of Terrace Bay for the largest fish caught by a resident of Rossport, Schreiber or Terrace Bay - wins four passes to the Theatre for his elev- en pound fourteen ounce trout. Carling O'Keefe spe- cial was won by David Brenner Sr. of Nipigon. it was a Quartz and Walnut wall clock. Al Chisholm of Km- berly Clark presented their trophy to Puduzny for the largest fish. CBQ and CKPR T.V. men were present taking pictures and announcing the three top winners. It was noted that in case of two or more fish of the same weight entered the earliest one entered would have top priority. Weiben's resort again had their plane available for sightseeing tours over Rossport on both Saturday and Sunday. Many took advantage of this pleasurable ride. The Derby this year was bigger and better and brought back mem- ories of its former glory. the committee did a great job of organizing it and obtaining prizes for the different catagories in the trout caught. All are looking forward to next year's derby, quite confident of another suc- cessful event to catalo- gue to Rossport's his- tory, hospitality and friendliness. Hanley Building and secure an appropriate plaque, and to install 170 feet of chainlink fence on the Town's property at the rear of the Shell Service Station. NEW CLERK During the public Question period the News asked what proce- dures the Council was using to fill the vacancy in the office of Clerk. Reeve Speer said, '"We have advertised the pos- ition. 'The applications have been _ short- listed and we have inter- viewed. We are hoping we will have a replace- ment soon."'
