Page 10, Terrace Bay-Schreiber News, Wednesday, June 29, 1983 Elementary School graduation Thirty-nine grade eights graduated from Schreiber and Terrace Bay Public schools re- ceived their diplomas in a joint ceremony June 23rd at Schreiber Public School. The gymnasium was transformed (through the artistic talents of Miss A. Ross) into a Smurf fantasyland. Lovely music was pro- vided by the Terrace Bay Public School choir under the direction of Mrs. Anti Wilkes and accompanied by Miss G. Bruyere. _ Sandra Cooper of Schreiber Public School acted as Master of Cere- monies for the evening. 'Following the opening prayer by Rev. B. Bige- low, greetings to the graduates were extend- ed by Mike Reid, Chair- man of the Lake Super- ior Board of Education. The address to the grad- uates was given by Director of Education 'Ms. Marg Twomey. Stu- dents Tammy Trach, Kelly Moore, and Ricky Harty gave a slide show resume of the recent grade 8 class trip to Toronto. The following awards were made: General academic proficiency Terrace Bay, Susan Boucher; Schreiber, Michael Molinski. Award for effort and ability - Terrace Bay, Tracey Clark; Schreiber, Lorna Wilson. Award for Most improved student, Terrace Bay - Rod Brend; Schreiber - Doug Mikkola. The award for literature went to Kelly Moore in Terrace Bay and the award for student most improved in English in Schreiber went to Brian Doig. Sage - hour.
