Toronto Percussion Ensemble visits schools On Wednesday, May 25 the students of St. Martin and Holy Angels Schools were delightfully entertain- ed by the Toronto Per- cussion Ensemble. This group of young musicians, formed in 1980, has rapidly be- come recognized as one of the most inno- vative performing groups in Canada. Spanning the centu- ries with music from Bach to Joplin, the Ensembled transport- ed the audience with fiery rhythmic sounds to Latin America; with jungle drums to the Dark Continent and with gongs and cym- bal. to the mysterious Far East. This exciting show is in great demand throughout Ontario schools and the staff and students of the North of Superior Board's schools were privileged to have had them come to our area to perform for us.
