Schelling. Twelve members recited the opening prayers led by Rev. Father Groulx. Laura Legault read the minutes of the previous meeting which were passed for adoption. Races and contests will be on the program and probably a ball game. Father Groulx gave a report on another delivery of pews for the church in the near future. Changes in deer hunting Deer seasons in many areas of Ontario will be longer this year due to an increase in the deer population, Natural Re- sources Minister Alan Pope said today. "The increase is due to my ministry's deer man- agement initiatives as well as favourable wea- ther conditions," Mr. Pope said. "Deer sight- ings have increased sig- nificantly in the last two years and small deer yards that have not been used for many years are once again occupied."' In wildlife manage- ment units (WMU) in the Parry Sound, Mus- koka and Haliburton areas, the 1983 season will be two weeks long instead of one week. In several other WMUs, the season will open earlier. The seasons in WMUs 7A, 7B, 9A, 9B and 11A will open Oct- ober 8 -- one week earlier than last year -- for both resident and non-resident hunters. In WMUs 124A, 12B, 13, 14 and 21A, the deer sea- son will open from one week to 10 days earlier than last year, depend- ing on the unit. There is no non-resident sea- son in these five units. There is a new ar- chery season in WMU 5S from November 21 to November 26 for resi- dents and = non-resi- dents. There is a new archery season for resi- dents only in WMUs 61 and 62 from October 17 to November 6 and from November 20 to Decem- ber 11. In WMUs 63 and 64, the archery. sea- son will be from Octo- ber 17 to November 6, preceding the gun sea- son. The Manitoulin Island gun season will be open from) November 21) to November 24 and all hunters, must have writ- ten permission from ap- propriate landowners. Anyone wishing to hunt anterless deer must pur- chase a deer licence then complete and _re- turn the attached antler- less deer tag applica- tion to the ministry's Wildlife Survey and debris. Deer hunters will not be ad- vised directly by mail to apply for antlerless deer tags as they were in 1980 and 1981. Hunters wishing to hunt in a controller deer hunt should contact the appropriate ministry district office. All -hunt- ets are advised to check the hunting summary regulations for opening dates in their hunting area. Holy Angels School continued from page 1 and staff at an assembly held Friday afternoon. A spokesperson for the school said, "We would like to thank all those who contributed to help make our Tea and Cystic Fibrosis Fund raising a success, espe- cially Mr. W. Malcolm and Palm Dairies, Costa's Foodateria and the Schreiber Food- market. The students of St. Martin's School in Terrace Bay kicked off the Terrace Bay Kins- men's Cystic Fibrosis campaign on Thursday afternoon by donating a cheque for $375.00 to the Terrace Bay Kins- men CF Chairman Duncan MacKay. The Grade Five class at the Terrace Bay Public School also raised about $75.00 on Friday after- noon by holding a pop- corn sale.
