PAGE 8 TERRACE BAY NEWS JANUARY 17, 1979 (==) (HOSPIALTIOTS It has been some time since we reported on progress in the construction of the new hospital. It is, therefore, with con- siderable pleasure we can say the roofing is nearly finished and crews on inside jobs are working under more comfortable circumstances now that heaters can be used. The inside walls are up in all patient areas as well as in the emergency quarters. The mechanical contractors presently are engaged in putting in ductwork and the water lines and electricians have roughed in electrical lines. The sprinkler system has been installed and the entire building now has been insulated. Windows are being put in both in the patients rooms and in the front of the building. A great deal of the big equi pment, such as the air conditioning system, has arrived, is on site, and installation will proceed smoothly. All the work is going forward on schedule. The medical staff's list of requir ed equipment, too, is coming along well and we shall be report- ing more specifically on this in the future. We have been hoping for an enthustastic response to our request last month for suggestions and ideas for a simple and effective Togo to be used to distinguish our new hospital. Now that Christmas and New Year pre-occupations are behind us, may we call again on the creative talents of our community. Please bring or mail your designs to the Administrator's Office, in Bi rchwood Terrace by January 31st. During December The McCausland Hospital treated 213 out- patients. There were 40 admissions and one newborn during the month. Donna Peters, a member of our nursing staff who has been on maternity leave, is the mother of the Community's New Year's Baby, David Louis Peters. We take this opportunity to express our grateful apprecia- tion to James and James, who came during the Christmas Season to entertain the patients with their music while they were featured as part of Rossport Inn's holiday entertainment. In future issues we shall certainly bring to the community's attention the efforts of remarkable citizens of this area who consistently and faithfully work in their different ways for the continuing excellent health care with which we are provided They are so many. May we make special mention this week of Addie Beaulieu, who has in the space of a month, contributed $918.00, proceeds of a Hockey Pool which she conducts to raise money to purchase hospital equipment. In the meantime our very special thanks. You will be interested in learning how our Building Fund now stands.
