Jack Stokes, the Speaker of the Ontario Legislature found himself an easy convert to Scottish traditions when he joined the Officers of the Lake Superior Scottish Regiment in Thunder Bay last Saturday at their annual dinner in honour of the Patron Saint of Scotland, St. Andrew. | Mr. Stokes who tends to be most formal while maintaining order and discipline in the Legi "ature on week days, proved that he can have as much fun as any Scot on a weekend. As the pictures show, Mr. Stokes toasied the regiment and dared to try on the kilt for the first time. He a so sampled a mild Scottish snuff from a silver snuff box mounted on a 200-year old ran's head. Mr. Stokes enjoyed a fine dinner of Scotch broth and haggis, topped off with some premium drambuie and music from the bag pipes. The Lake Superior Scottish Regiment operates militia platoons in Geral dton, Schreiber, Terrace Bay and Marathon, communi- ties in Mr. Stokes' riding of Lake Nipigon. :
