Ruby Rebekah Lodge No. 279 The regular meeting of Ruby Rebekah Lodge 279 on Wednesday, October 25th was preceded by a pot luck supper in the United Church hall. Guests at the supper were members of Greenstone and Sapphire Lodges from Thunder Bay. Mrs. Gladys Hamilton V.G. presided over the meeting, assist- ed by Mrs. Christina Morris PNG as V.G. The following officers were installed in their respective offices by Mrs. Margaret Johnston District Deputy President of Dist. #1 assisted by Mrs. Dorothy Finson as Deputy Marshall and members of her staff from Greenstone Rebekah Lodge. A penny auction will be held following the next regular meeting on November 8th. pr ROSSPORT SOCIAL Isadore Ray is holidaying with relatives in Ear Falls this week. Mr. and Mrs. R.T. Kenney have left to visit their daughter Colleen and her husband Gordon Taylor of Kitimat, B.C. for a fen weeks before going to Texas for the winter. Mrs. Camilla Legault is holidaying with relatives in Detroit and area. Miss Lorraine Seppala and Floyd Harnden have arrived home after an enjoyable holiday with friends in Toronto and attend- ed the Arts Festival at Stratford, Ont. The local volunteers of the Rossport Firefighters club called a special meeting Thursday evening when the Fire Mar- shall of Thunder Bay was present. A report was heard on how the women members were raising funds to purchase a suitable building to house the fire pump engine, equipment and purchase additional hose and equipment.
