OCTOBER 12, 1978 TERRACE BAY NEWS PAGE 15 AUX. TO McCAUSLAND HOSPITAL CARD PARTY A disappointing turnout! Those who did come out to support their hospital auxiliary had a very enjoyable, social evening of cards. The lunch was a delicious variety of fresh home baked loaves, cheeses and grapes with tea or coffee. It was enjoyed by everyone. The big prize winners were: Kathleen Mikkonen (bridge hi), Mary Monier - Williams (bridge lo), Heather Neiderost and Lillian Christie (tied for hi in whist), Blanche Speck (Crib hi) and Christine Handy (rummoli pennies). Mary Monier-Williams won the door prize (a decorative candle) and Eveiyn Matush won the draw for the tote bag. The card party committee would Tike to tnank everyone who donatzd and helped to make the evening a succes.. We give a special thank you to Marg Gander for her behind-the-scene work. We would also Tike to thank our senior citizens who came over from Birchwood Terrace for the evening. Remember - our next Auxiliary meeting is October 16th, 8 p.m. in Schreiber High School library. Everyone warmly welcomed. PROPOSED DAY CARE CENTRE FOR T.B. An attempt is being made to conduct a day care centre in this community, al- though plans have not yet been finalized. isle Smith, co-ordinator for the cen- tre, said that Town Council is looking into the possibility of obtaining a : grant to help finance the centre, which ; would be established in the Community Church basement. . . late Plans for the centre came about as a REG. 00.00 result of the need for adequate child care fer working mothers, and there are already eighteen children who would attend. The centre plans to take in twenty to twenty-five children full-time, and to act as a drop-in centre as well. : The staff would consist of two full-time ; . ~ workers and four part-time staff. M.
