PAGE © TERRACE BAY NEWS OCTOBER 4, 1978 PINEWOOD - BIRCHWOOD AUXILIARY The Auxiliary to Pinewood=Birchwood began another season ] with the September meeting presided over by Vice=President Alm Hart in Birchwood Terrace. Corresponding Secretary Lillian Christie read the minutes and correspondence. Treasurer Ken Macleod advised the members of the current bank balance and later discussed the Audio-Visual project. Estelle Wallwin itemized the Sick and Visiting report for June, July and August and Gertrude Cotton gave the statistics on the Volunteer Services for these summer months. This latt- er service will show increasing needs in the fall due to the departure of the summer students on staff and the rise in res- dency as well as the lack of any taxi service within the community. Anyone wishing to assist residents to Doctor,, Dentist or laboratory appointment or out for a shopping need, were asked to contact G. Cotton. Due to a heavy fog in the area and a very small turnout of members, no convener could be found to head up a Game Night in September. However with the Hospital Auxiliary holding a Card Party October 5th, it was felt they would support this project and encourage or assist any resident able to attend. Peggy Thompson consented to convene the Fall Tea on Saturday, October 28th in Birchwood Terrace from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. The Terrace Bay Kinettes advised they had not been required during the summer months, but intended to continue their month ly bingo nights this winter.
