Following the dinner Councillor Mr. George Ramsay, who was acting on behalf of Reeve Cyril Brass ard, who was in hospital, welcomed Her Honour and called on Mr. Stokes to present her with an amethyst necklace and her husband with a set of amethyst book ends. Her Honour spoke briefly on her role and how she enjoyed her work especially visiting in the Area. She requested to meet with the chef, Mr. L. Theriault, who is now quite famous for his Lake Trout dinners on the North Shore. On Friday, September 22nd, 1978 the Board of Management of the District of Thunder Bay Home for the Aged held their meet- ing passing accounts for Pinewood Court of $89,091.38 and Bi rchwood Terrace for $12,191.06. Vice-Chairman, Mr. Harold J. McParland, gave a detailed re- port of the Convention held in Toronto during the week of September 10, 1978, especially the workshop held by-the Mini- try of Community & Social Services on Wednesday morning. The workshop dealt mainly with Residents! rights, privacy, Trust accounting, confidentiali! / of records and admission proced- ures. The Birchwood Terrace Home is now reaching its capacity of sixty-two beds with only four vacant beds and six applications being processed. At Pinewood Court the waiting list remains at fifteen. A Pinewood Court contract negatietians are proceeding with ONA and CUPE. The next board meeting is scheduled to be held on October 27th at Pinewood Court. The North of Superior District Roman Catholic Separate School Board The regular meeting of The North of Superior District Roman Catholic Separate School Board held in St. Hilary School, Red Rock, on Saturday, Sept. 16th, opened with prayer. Apgrival was given to the minutes of Regular Board Meeting No. 6/78 held June 17th. . The Ministry of Education has advised that the Board's sub- mission for a Gym at Holy Angels School, Schreiber, is consid- ered "Tow priority". The consensus was that the Board should continue making application for this project through the Capital Forecast submission and also correspond regularly with the Ministry to stress the impo: tance of this project. A11 recommendations of the Management and Personnel & Fin- ance Committees! meeting on June 16th, were acted on at the regular meeting of the Board on June 17th. An attempt will be made to retain the services of a heat- ing consultant to check St. Martin School, Terrace Bay. The Hydro costs for this school are considerably highér than the other schools. Board motion accepted the Statement of Accounts, in the total amount of $247,565.91, for the months of June, July and August, 1978.
