SEPTEMBER 13, 1978 TERRACE BAY NEWS PAGE 3 RECREATION DEPT. f WEEKLY REPORT % YOUTH BOWLING LEAGUE: This is a reminder that the Recreation Department is hoping to operate a youth Bowling league for boys and girls 7 to 14 years of age. The response to this point has been favourable although more participants are needed before we can set up a league. We would also be interested in any adults who might assist us by coaching or scoring. We are now finalizing plans to run a bowling clinic for children who do not know how to bowl and further details will be in next week's paper. Meanwhile any children interested in joining the Bowling league should leave their names at the Rec- reation Office - 3542. J'INIOR GIRLS GYMNASTICS: We are now in the final stages of setting up our Gymnastics programme for girls between the ages of 6 and 13 years of age. This programme will operate one evening a week and we would encourage interested persons to register at the Recreation 0f- fice as soon as possible. FITNESS TESTING: A reminder that the Ontario Fitness van will be in Terrace Bay from October 16th to 20th and the Recreation Office is taking names of persons wishing to have a fitness evaluation. Phone the Recreation Office for further details regarding fee, - etc. LADIES SPORTS PROGRAMME: A ladies Sports programme is being initiated for the fall and winter months and will operate Wednesday evenings at the Sepa= rate School gym in Terrace Bay, starting Wednesday, September 20th. This programme is at no cost to the participants and will provide a wide range of sports and exercise activities. |f interested, call the Recreation Office at 3542. CONFEDERATION COLLEGE COURSES: We hope to have compl€te details on all Confederation College courses for next weeks's printing of the News. anyone interest- ed in submitting their names for the courses as mentioned in previous issues of the News, should phone the Recreation Office. CERAMICS AND POTTERY: At this time, the Recreation Department is considering run- ning both a Pottery course and a hobby Ceramics course and we would like an indication of interest from persons in 'the commun- ity. Please phone the Recreation Office and leave your name. CARLTON SHOW BAND - SEPTEMBER 22ND: The Carlton Show Band, from the PIG AND WHISTLE T.V, show, will put on a show and dance Friday, September 22nd. Please refer to page 4 for full details.
