SEPTEMBER 13, 1978 TERRACE BAY NEWS PAGE 11 Schreiber Parks and Recreation RUN FOR FUN: Schreiber Parks and Recreation 1st Annual Run for Fun program will be held on Saturday, Sept. 16, 1978 begin- ning in Terrace Bay at 10 a.m. and finishing at the Schreiber High School.Persons entering the run will be required to pay a $2.00 registration fee prior to going in the event. Fees will be taken at the Recreation Office (upstairs Town Hall) up to 5 p.m. Friday, September 15, 1978; after that persons may pay at the start line from 9:00 - 9:30 a.m. There will be check points throughout the run to give out times to those timing themselves, and also to check off numbers of each person The time allotment for finishing will be 1 p.m. Each person completing will receive a T-Shirt at the finish. A171 people" participating will run facing the traffic. Anyone caught horseplaying on the highway will be suspended. 1ST ANNUAL MINOR BASEBALL TOURNEY: The Schreiber 1st annual minor baseball tournament was held this past weekend in Schrei- ber with Pat's T,V, of Schreiber the Champs and Sergio's of Mani touwadge the Consolation Winner. Winning teams received Gold/Silver Medals. Thanks to Irene Borutski and family, the Schreiber Ball Team, Ray Wilson, Des 0'Driscoll, M. Cosgrove, L. Imbeault, Ted Winters for umpiring; Judy Davis for acting as official scorekeepter, Pat's T,V. for the public address system; Barb Mclaughlin for operating the food booth and the public for your support. CONFEDERATION COLLEGE: Confederation College in co-operation with Schreiber Recreation are offering Fall and Winter Credit and interest programs to residents of Schreiber. Mineralogy - study of species, recognition and identifica- tion of rocks. Mr. Chisholm of Thunder Bay will do the instruc -tion for the program. Tentative dates are Oct. 27th and 28th, Nov. 3rd and 4th, 10th and 11th, 1978 all weekends. The course will be 30 hours long. Organic Gardening will be offered to all interested in hor- ticulture, this program could be of benefit to you. Cross Country Ski Clinics, Cake Decorating, 0i1 Painting and Weaving will be weekend workshops.
