GYMNASTICS PROGRAMME: The Terrace Bay-Recreation Department is now making arrange -ments to operate a gymnastics programme for girls 6 to'13 years of age. We are in need of some volunteer instructors and if you have had experience in gymnastics, would you please notify the Recreation Office. As soon as a school gym has been booked and the programme is set, registrations will be taken. RINGETTE MEETING: Due to the poor turnout at the last Ringette meeting, anoth -er meeting has been called for Friday, September 1st, at 4:00 p.m. in the conference room of the Recreation Centre. |[f : Ringette is to be successful, your support is greatly needed. BADMINTON CLINIC: The Ontario Badminton Association and the Terrace Bay Rec- reation Department will sponsor an adult Badminton clinic in Terrace Bay on September 9th! This clinic will include fundamentals, game strategies and rules of Badminton. The clinic will be conducted by a qualified instructor and we would encourage any adul* nlayers (16 years of age and over) to contact the Recreation Office at 3542 and leave ur nang as soon as possible. There is no charge for this clinic. RINGETTE CLINIC: The Terrace Bay Recreation Department in conjunction with the Ontario Ringette Association will be sponsoring a clinic on September 9th, 10th and 11th at the Terrace Bay Recreation Centre and Arena. The clinic will cover a basic introduction to Ringette stressing fundamentals, rules, skill development, game strategies and floor demonstrations. Also, a coaches and referees clinic will be given and we would encourage par- ents to participate in this part of the clinic. Anyone interested should contact the Recreation Office and Teave your name. The hours for the clinic wil" be as follows: September 9th and 10th - 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.; September 11th - 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. There is no charge for this clinic. CYCLING CLINIC: Bob Zeller of the Ontario Cycling Association will be in Terrace Bay on Saturday and Sunday, September 9th and 10th, to operate a Cycling clinic. The clinic will include a session on Saturday morning from 9 to 12 noon on mechanics of bicycles, adjustments, basic riding and what bike riding can lead to. Statistics have proven that after a person has taken this por- tion of the clinic, they will be a 607 safer rider. We hope to operate a Saturday afternoon session in advanced cycling, including racing and turing. On Sin day, a short informal bike tour will be arranged with participants of the clinic. This clinic is open to all bike riders and we would hope you would register your name at the Recreation Office as soon as possible Continued page 4 ....
