TERRACE BAY WINTER ARENA USER GROUPS: This is a reminder of the meeting of all winter user groups to discuss arena ice requirements. This meeting will be held August 29th in the Conference Room of the Centre at 7:00 p.m. If your organization is not represented at this meeting, we shall presume you do not require ice time this winter in our arena. Letters have been sent to last year's user groups remind -ing them of this meeting. JUNIOR TENNIS TOURNAMENT: A junior Tennis tournament will be conducted on Thursday, August 31st, at 9:00 a.m. Anyone 10 to 15 years of age wishing to enter the tournament is asked to submit names to the Recrea -tion Office before August 29th. SUMMER PROGRAMME '78: On August 11th, the Unbirthday Party was held in the arena. Children who attended the party were taken on a tour of the loc -al fire hall and police station. Everyone in attendance was treated to birthday cake supplied by one of the summer programme leaders. At this time, Summer Programme '78 would like to thank everyone who made the Unbirthday Party possible. A special thanks to John London who conducted the tour of the various establishments. "SUMMER PROGRAMME STAFF VS SWIM POOL STAFF: The first annual competition between the Summer Programme '78 staff and the Swim Pool staff was conducted on Thursday, August 17 th, at the swimming poo! ine Summer Programme staff defeat- ed the Pool staff handily in the watermelon football game, in- nertube paddle race, water volleyball game and soda cracker whistle contest to .in the competition. The campinc .p to Neys Park is presently being conducted with approxi ely 20 children in attendance. TERRACE +Y COMMUNITY-INDUSTRIAL FITNESS COMMITTEE: The ritness Committee is pleased to announce that the Ontario Fitr.ss Van will be in Terrace Bay from October 16th to 20th, + 1973, to do fitness evaluation on interested persons of the town. Many members of the Recreation Committee were tested last week and would be willing to explain the testing process. Members of the Fitness Committee who were tested were - 01lie Chapman, Connie Bryson, Emie Kettle, Ken MacLeod, Dr. Keith Wilkes, Keith Trodd, Chris Zorica and Barclay Mayhew. Other residents of the community who were tested included Ann Wilkes, Mel White, Dr. B. Adey, Mrs. Sawyer, Barry Stephen and M. Gallen -berger. The van has all qualified people to conduct the tests and we would suggest you enter your name to the Recreation Office very soon as a limited number of approximately 75 persons only can be tested in October. The Fitness Committee has now set up three new sub-committ- ees which include (1) fitness programs, (2) publicity, and (3) educational committee.
