SUMMER PROGRAMME 78: Summer Programme '78 will be conducting an unbirthday party for children between the ages of 5 to 9. This party will in- clude birthday cakes, candies, balloons, treasure hunts and fun games. All children are invited to attend this party, which will be held in the arena on Thursday, August 11th, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon. Ladies Open Gym will be conducted in the Public School gym every Thursday morning from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon. This time slot has been set aside for ladies only and the ladies of the community are asked to please make the best possible ef- fort for maximum use of this facility. The camping trip involving the Marathon and Terrace Bay Recreation Departments is in its final planning stage. Anyone interested in going on the trip, between the ages of 9 to 12, is asked to submit their names to the Recreation Office or any Playground Leader before August 18th. This camping trip will be taking place on August 23rd,-24th and 25th. COMING EVENTS: Monday, August 14th - Meeting of Community-Industrial Fitness Committee, Conference Room of Centre at 2:00 p.m. September 9th, 10th, 11th - Ringette Clinic, Terrace Bay Arena September 9th and 10th - Cycling Clinic. COMMUNI TY=1NDUSTRIAL FITNESS PROGRAMME: The Terrace Bay committee on Community and Industrial Fit- ness will meet on August 14th at 2:00 p.m. in the Conference Room of the Recreation Centre. All committee members are urged to attend this meeting as Mr. Al Skerrett, the Motivation Co- ordinator from the Ministry of Culture and Recreation, will be on hand. The purpose of this committee is to make the public aware of the benefits of physical fitness and encourage the cit -izens of this community to become more active. Also, on August 14th and 15th the Ontario Fitness van will # be in Terrace Bay doing fitness testing and evaluations on some members of the committee. This will be taking place throughout both days at the Recreation Centre and the public is welcome to observe. ~The equipment from the fitness van will be set up in the large meeting room of the Recreation Centre. This van will be returning to Terrace Bay in October or Nov- ember, at which time the public may be tested. Mr. Clyde Tuyl will be available to talk to interested people about being tested. For further information, call the Recreation Co-ordin- ator at 825-3542, TERRACE BAY LADIES GOLFING: Hiram Walker tournament was played and the results were: J. Gunter, winner; runner up M. Phillips and Low Gross J. Megraw; Least Putts C, Stachiw and High Hole S. Mayhew. Club Championship with J. Megraw club champ, J, Hall runner up. The 36 handicap was played at the same time with C, Stachiw as winner and S, White as runner up. We would like to congra- tulate T, Costa for his hole in one and Paul Dashkewytch for representing Northwestern Ontario Juniors at Barrie.
