After weeks of preparation and work, two clay topped courts have been completed and play commenced last week-end. The courts are located in the Townsite just south of the school area and west of the Shopping Centre. 25 YEARS AGO - JULY 30, 1953 AROUND THE TOWN: Mrs. Duquette of Kenora, Ontario spent the weekend visiting with her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Joh Long. Mr. and Mrs.Al McMillan of Fort William visited with the Fred McMillans over the weekend and also took part in the Rossport Derby. STORK CLUB: Congratulations this week go to Mr. and Mrs. J. Papousek on the birth of a son on July 28th, 1953, 15 YEARS AGO - AUGUST 1, 1963 The newly formed Royal Canadian Sea Cadet Corps Superior in Terrace Bay, sent off its first group of eight Cadets Saturday morning for summer training. The Cadets, Bill Dun- can, Francis Helmink, Ken Wood, Clifford Wood, Bob Robinson, Don Pryor, Warren Pearen and Tom Gerow entrained for Toronto where they will transfer to TCA to fly to Sydney, N.S. Elizabeth Hayes has just returned from Winnipeg where she and Cheryl Duncan attended the Olympic Summer Skating School under Canadian Gold Medalist Desira Skene, Professional at the Winnipeg Winter Club. Congratulations were earned by both Elizabeth and Cheryl who are now Silver Medalist. 10 YEARS AGO - AUGUST 1, 1968 Yellow glads adorned the altar in Holy Angels Roman Cath- olic Church in Schreiber on July 20th for the marriage of Sharon Elizabeth, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Leonard 0'Brien of Schreiber, and Sten Sture Lif of Cochenour, Ontario, son of Mr. and Mrs. Hilbert Lif of Rossport. Mr. and Mrs. A.D. LeBlanc of Schreiber are pleased to announce the marriage of their third oldest daughter, Theresa Oolores, to Mr. Fred Kent, son of Mr.and Mrs. F. Kent of Port Arthur. The wedding took place on Saturday, July 27th in London, Ontario, where the bride and groom will be residing. Or. and Mrs. D.J.
