LYNN PHILLIPS HONOURED AT SHOWER Lynn Phillips was honoured at a shower-tea on July 27th in the United Church Hall when her mother, Mrs. Burton Phillips, Michelle Bedard and Mrs. Helen LeBlanc, aunt of-her fiance, Danny Miller, assisted in receiving. Mrs. Robert Campbell was the table hostess and the servi- tors were Sandra Bourguignon, Debbie Bourguignon, Susanne Gionet, Pam Glad, Shirley Ross, Barbara Glad and Cathy Camp- bell. Mesdames Joy Riley, Lorraine Weaver and Eva Gordon and Miss Rona Godin replenished. The gifts were opened by Pauline Bourre and Sharon Dobush. SCHREIBER SOCIAL: Among the visitors in town this week were Mr. and Mrs. Tommy Yamamoto of Montreal with their family, Karen, Larry, Jeffrey and Brian. Mr. Yamamoto was born in Schreiber in 1930, leaving here with his parents in 1935 and has always wanted to return to see how true his childhood memories were. He was delighted to find the warm welcome and hospitality renains the same, with so many remembering him and his mother and father, both still alive and living in' Japan. Mr. and Mrs. John Pawluk of Winnipeg; Mr. and Mrs. Peter Charnuk of Gimley and Mr. and Mrs. Wa ter Wolucuk of Thunder Bay are visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Bob Winters. Austin and Dodie Cosgrove are having a great round of fam- ily visitors, including Mr. and Mrs. Ed McGregor of Gogama with their family - Billy, lan and Kelea; Mr. and Mrs. Irving Cosgrove of Winnipeg with Kathleen, Kelly, Teresa and Kurt; . Mr. and Mrs. Harold Sylvan of Calgary with Richard, Leslie, Garry and Cam and John, Toma and Cheryl Anderson of Newhall, California. Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Wilson have returned from Victoria, B.C. where they visited cousins of Mr. Wilson. Mrs. George Cataford has her sister Mrs. Ireme Mclintye of North Bay visiting her, and another sister, Mrs. Gertrude Lafonaine and her son Jimmy of Toronto are with Gino and Frankie Caccamo at their summer home at White Sand Lake with much visiting back and forth. Also, with Gino and Frankie are Mr. and Mrs. Roger Cataford and three of their children of Sarnia. : ; Alex and Eva Gordon, for the past two weeks have had two guests = Pius Blunschi of Baden, Switzerland and Bernhard Baur of Oberlingen, West Germany. The two boys met Clyde 'Gordon and Steven Ross when they enjoyed their year's tour of Britain, Europe, Israel and neighbouring countries. : Meeting the friends of Clyde and Steven is a highlight of the boys trip to Canada. Mrs. Peter Christie (nee Linda Handel) and her two children, Douglas and Laurie have come from Deep River to stay with Linda's parents, Jack and Margaret Handel's Grandma Augusta Pearson who makes her home with them. At the same time, they are visiting with Lillian Christie, her husband's mother, also living in Schreiber. Jack and Margaret are visiting their son Eric, in Logan Lake, B.C. ENGAGEMENT ANNOUNCEMENT Mr. and Mrs. C. Perras of Schreiber are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Paulette Irene to John Daley Agnew, son of Mr.and Mrs. G.G. Agnew of Ottawa. The wedding will take place at 3:00 p.m., August 25th in Holy Angels Church, Schreiber with Father J. Meyer officiating.
