TERRACE BAY NEWS JUNE 28, 1978 GREENSHIELDS: The funeral of the late Mrs. Phyllis Greenshields, nee Riley, whose death occurred on June 15, 1978 at the age of 67, in hospital, following a long illness, was conducted in St. John's Anglican Church on June 17th by the Rev. Tim Delaney of Nipigon. The pallbearers were Robert Krause, Jack Whitton, George Riley, Jack Winters, Jim Duggan and Gilbert Gerow, all nephews of the deceased. Interment was in Schreiber cemetery. Mrs. Greenshields was predeceased by her husband, Wally Greenshields on August 5, 1977. Her immediate survivors are her daughter Alva, Mrs. Bruce Morgan and her four children, Janet, Stephen, Carl and Brian all of Newbourgh, Ontario; one sister, Mrs. Victoria Winters of Schreiber; two brothers - Herbert of White River and Cliff -ord Riley of Birchwood Home, Terrace Bay. There are also many neices and nephews in the immediate area. Mrs. Greenshields was a member of the Chimo Club Senior Citizens and a native of Schreiber, where she'd spent her entire 1life. Among those attending the funeral from out of town were her daughter Mrs. Bruce Morgan; Doreen Cummis (neice) of Sioux Lookout; Mr. and Mrs. Wallachuk and Bert Bertrand of Thunder Bay. SCHREIBER SOCIAL: Visiting with Bob and Vicky Winters recent- ly were Walter and Sally Walachuk of Thunder Bay and Mr. and ~ Mrs. Dick Timmerman with children Amy and Stanley of Kimberly B.C. Mrs. Timmerman is the former Shirley Jartus. LYNN DRAKE HONOURED Lynn Drake, bride-elect of this month, was honoured at a - communi ty shower tea on June 17 in the United Church Hall. Receiving with her were her mother, Mrs. J.G. Scott, her sister Lori of. Yorkton, Sask and her fiance's mother, Mrs. Luiga Dalcin of Hornpayne. Mrs. Dorothy Lengyel was the table hostess and therservi- tors were Mesdapes Susan Hay, Maria Figliomeni, Debbie Fum- merton, Miss Judy Lengyel and Sandra Dowswell of Thunder Bay. Tea pourers were Miss Gwen Hadley and Mesdames Mary Chris- tie,Sylvia Clark and Linda Nesbitt. Replenishing were Mes- dames Kay Stefurak, Eva Gordon, Mary Jane Cline, Gladys Han ilton and Joyce Gilmore. The gifts were opened by Mrs. Laureen Kay and Mrs. Diane Patterson and the guest book attended by Lisa Lengyel. SCHREIBER SOCIAL: Twenty-three members of the local Chimo Club paid a visit to Birchwood Terrace on Wednesday, June 21, enjoying a visit with old friends, some games of bingo and shuffleboard. The occasion ended with a delicious buffet dinner. Dean Miller and Andy McLean of Sault Ste Marie visited. Norman and Ruth Bottomley last week while' enjoying a fishing trip in the area. The Martin and Downs Circus, sponsored by the Kinsmen, played to full houses during their stay in Schreiber last week. The Halonen family, young and old, are holding a family re -union in Schreiber on August 5 and 6, with some 75 expected to attend.
