PINEWOOD-BIRCHWOOD AUXILIARY MEETING The June meeting of Pinewood=Birchwood Auxiliary was held Thursday afternoon in Birchwood Terrace with President May Dorland in the chair. Minutes of the past meeting and corres- pondence were read and approved. A further donation to the Bake Sale brought the total to $165.81. Sick and Visiting Convenor Estelle Wallwin reported one get well card and two sympathy cards sent in May and Gertrude Cot- ton reported eleven residents taken to the Doctor or Dentist appointments by seven volunteers in their service volunteers. | Mrs. Dorland stated this service was more essential than ever now there was no taxi in town. Details for the Games Night on June 13th were finalized and on request a Rummoli table will also be held. Admission prices were set and the President announced she intended to give a lucky chair prize during the evening. Mina Mahoney, as Director of Activities, stated students had been hired for the summer and would be available for Home enter] -tainment with picnics, outings and various programs planned. A suggestion was made to invite the Public School children under Mrs. McGee to come to Birchwood Terrace and present thein play, "Farmer in the Dell". [t had been excellent entertain- ment and the residents had so thoroughly enjoyed the previous group of children who came from St. Martin School with their ukeleles under the direction of Mrs. Ann Wilkes. Mina would make this request for Senior Citizen week. Information on the Convention in London, Ontario of the Ont -ario Home for the Aged September 10th to 13th was read and discussed. May Dorland agreed to represent the Auxiliary on Auxiliary Day during the Convention.
