COUNCIL QUOTES The regular meeting of the Council of the Township of Terrace Bay was held on June 12th in the Council Chambers. Minutes fo the previous regulag meeting were adopted as presented. : Canada Manpower was given permission to declare July 3rd- 7th "Hi re=a-Student=Week", in order to focus the communi ty's attention on the availability and versatility of student 1ab- our. Students were also given permission to hold a bake, book and craft sale on July 5th in the Community Church Hall, in conjunction with Student Week. A sum of $300.00 was donated to the Kinsmen and Kinettes Clubs to aid in their upcoming Canada Day activities on July 1.) It was reported that there has been no change of members fon the Lake Superior Board of Education. The composition of the Board is Terrace Bay, 3 members,Schreiber,2 members, Mani tou- wadge, 6 members and Marathon, 3 members. There are 10 public -school representatives and 4 separate school representatives, totalling 14 members. A motion was passed to accept an agreement between the Rec- reation Committee and the Curling Club. The agreement regards rental of the club by the Curling Club during the off-season of April 13th to November 1st. The annual meeting of the Thunder Bay District Municipal League will be held at the Terrace Bay Legion on June 17th at 11:00 a.m., followed by a luncheon and a tour of Birchwood Terrace, The Building Inspectors! He will become division vice president and general manager of the Coosa River Newsprint, Pulp and Forest re . Products Business Division at Coosa Pines, Ala. The division produces pulp and lumber, and also operates one of the largest newsprint mills in the K---C PRES IDENT FROMOTED + UsSe As with the Terrace Bay mill, the Coosa Pines facility recently completed a major expansion program. Mr. Puttock!s successor as president of Kimberly-Clark of Canada and general manager of the Pulp and Forest Products Division will be Michael J, Gallenberger, formerly manager of K.Ca's Schweitzer Division mill at Spotswood, J.J. The Spotswood mill is one of the world's largest producers of cigarette papers and reconstituted tobacco. This mill also produces specialty pulp. : Mr. Puttock graduated from the University of Toronto with a degree in foresty in 1947. That same year he joined Kimberly-Clark!s Terrace Bay operations as chief scaler. He became logging superintendent in 1951 and woodlands manager in 1966. In 1972 he was named resident operations manager, 'and in 1974 became president of Kimberly-Clark of Canada and general manager of the Pulp and Forest Products Division. Mr. Puttock and his wife, Margaret, have two children. Mr. Gallenberger graduated from the College of Foresty at the State University of New York with a degree in paper science in 1961. He subsequently obtained a master's degree in business administration from the University of Massachus- etts. He joined K.C, as assistant superintendent at the Eagle mill in Lee, Mass. in 1961.
