PAGE 10 TERRACE BAY NEWS JUNE 21, 1978 RECREATION DEPT. fF WEEKLY REPORT F% MACRAME COURSE: The Macrame course will start tonight, Wednesday, June 21, from 8:00 to 10:00 p.m. in the Conference Room of the Recrea- tion Centre. Registrants are requested to pay their registra- tion fee before this course commences. TENNIS CLINIC: The Tennis Courts will be in use for a tennis clinic on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, June 19th, 21st and 23rd, and Monday, Wednesday, June 26th and 28th. The courts will be used from 4:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. for this clinic. that there will be no free time to play tennis at these times. MEN'S FASTBALL: The scores in the first league season games were: Terrors over the Beavers 18-0, the Red Dog narrowly defeating the Commerce Greenbacks 9-7. Games next Sunday are as follows: 6:00 p.m. ~ Greenbacks vs Rossport and 8:00 p.m. - Paper- makers vs Pay Cheque Playboys at the Mill Road diamond. On Tuesday, June 27th, at 6:00 p.m. the Terrors play the Red Dog and at 8:00 p.m. the Beavers vs Greenbacks. Spectators are welcome at all Terrace Bay men's fastball games. BOXING CLUB: Details are now being finalized for the start of a Terrace Bay Boxing Club. All people registered will be contacted as soon as this infomation is complete. SKATE-BOARDING IN THE ARENA: All persons interested in this activity may participate on Mondays from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m. Helmets and elbow pads are mandatory equipment and this activity will be supervised by a Recreation staff member. All skate-boards must present Recrea -tion discs to take part in this activity free of charge. TENNIS CLUB: The 'Terrace Bay Tennis Club has booked certain times each week for club members. They are - Tuesday nights, 6:00 to 10:00 p.m., Saturday mornings 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon, and Sunday afternoons, 1:00 to 6:00 p.m. At these times, club members only may use the courts and we would encourage: tennis players to join the Tennis Club to take advantage of perferred times. Regulations for Tennis Club members will be posted at the courts. A membership list will also be posted and Tennis Club members will be distinguished by tennis tags. SWIM POOL: Unfortunately, due to mechanical difficulties, the pool could not be opened on schedule Monday, June 19th. However, by the time this edition of the News is available, the pool will be open and following are the public swimming hours until further notice: Wednesday to Friday of this week - 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., Saturday and Sunday of this week - 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. and 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. Next week, the pool will be open Monday to Friday - 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. and 6:04 t0r9:00 p.m. [tis compulsory that persons wishing to swim in the pool ry Please note show their Recreation discs to gain free admission. THIS WILL BE STRICTLY ENFORCED AND NO EXCEPTIONS MADE, Swim instruction registration forms were distributed through the schools last week and the deadline for July registrations is June 27th at 5:00 p.m. A MOM AND TOT programme will also be offered this summer and is scheduled to start in the second week of July. SUMMER PROGRAM | NFORMATIONz The following are 'some of the activities planned for this summer: arts and crafts, archery, canoeing, camping, basket- ball, floor hockey, skate-boarding, badminton, ping pong, checkers, golf, volleyball, ball hockey, tennis, softball, biking, lawn darts, boxing. Note to the public = we are open to suggestions for any programme or programmes that any mem- ber or group in the community should wish to partake.
