MAY 31, 1978 TERRACE BAY NEWS PAGE 3 PI NEWOOD-BI RCHHOOD AUXILIARY MEETING: Continued An invitation was extended to members of the Auxiliary to attend an afternoon of entertainment on June 1st at 2 p.m. when Mrs. Ann Wilkes would present her group of twenty-five children from St. Martin School with music on their guitars for the residents of Birchwood Terrace. HWHany members expressed - pleasure at this invitation and arranged for refreshments to ' follow the recital. Hilda Hiebert informed the group the first two sessions of the gardening course had been held by Peter Mann from Confeder- ation College and there were still two more for interested re- sidents .on May 29th and 30th. As it had been planned to hold further Games Nights, due to its previous popularity, it was agreed to set Tuesday, June 13th for this event. whist, shuffleboard and cribbage. Estelle Wallwin agreed to arrange the lunch following. In response to a letter of acceptance from the Terrace Bay Kinettes, the Auxiliary had noted to sponsor their Home Bingo in July and August. Volunteers for walks with residents were now required and Gertrude Cotton agreed to arrange éscorts with Director of Nursing Leola Angus. Ken Macleod answered questions on the audio-visual project and stated he now had all the necessary letters to ask for approximately $3,500.00 of equipment. Several suggestions were made for entertainient during the summer and Hilda Hiebert detailed many of the plans already being processed through the Horizon Group." These include work shop with power tools and supplies of materials for same, greenhouse and beautification of the residence. Mina Mahoney will be the auxiliary representative at the Regional Meeting in Fort Frances May 31st.
