ASTRID KNEIPP MAKES REGIONAL BASKETBALL TEAM: CLIT Astrid Kneipp, a grade eleven student at Lake Superior High School, Terrace Bay Campus, was - one of fifteen players chosen from forty girls to be on the Northwestern Ontario Regional Basketball team. Try-outs were held on May 6th at C.J. Saunders Field Lakehead University, where players were judged according to various basketball skills. Astrid will practise once a ea week in Thunder Bay, and will participate in tournaments ino Southern Ontario this July, when the Northwestern team will compete with other Ontario Teams. = SOCCER NEWS A meeting was held at the Lake Superior High School for the Superior Minor Soccer Association. The complete executive attended to discuss fees, registration, rules and regulations. Registration night will be held on Wednesday, May 17th at the Terrace Bay Arena at 7 p.m., with membership fees pay=- able at registration time. Parents are invited along to this night, as coaches and managers are required for all age groups: 12 years and under; 13 years to 15 years and 16 years to 18 years. Since forming the Minor Soccer, many adults have shown interest in a Mens team. Director Chris Couzelis. has volun- teered to be the coach for this. If you are interested please phone him at 825-9112. Indoor activities for coaches and referees will be held every Wednesday from May 10th for 4 weeks at 7 p.m. Bill McDougall and Maurice Duffy will be in attendance at the Lake Superior High School for these activities. Indoor Soccer games will be held in the Terrace Bay Arena (dates to be posted later), for all age groups, until a playing field is available. Indoor Soccer rules will be used at this time.
