SUMMER PROGRAMS: The time is nearing when parents should start thinking of registering sons and daughters for swimming, playground, ten- nis and wilderness programs. Further information will be in this column in the next few weeks. For the swimming program please know what level your child/ children have successfully completed from last year, or, if they did not pass, which level they had attempted. This will assist us greatly at registration time. MINOR HOCKEY BANQUET April 16th, was a gala occasion for players in the Minor Hockey Association and a first in two ways. The first father and son type of occasion and the first smorgasbord any of the boys had attended. Cos Filane was the M.C. for the evening. Grace was said "by Inez McCuaig. The highlight of the evening, attended by almost two hundred people, was the surprise presentation of individual trophies to the "little leaguers', which includs two girls - Connie May "and Daryl Lynn Webb. ; Oon Burton, president of the North Shore and Eastern Zone Hockey Association presented Brian Hiller (captain) of the Midgets with the League Association trophy, saying one of the objectives of the new association had been attained - having less violence in the games. This year the players were divided into Novis - 5, 6 & 7 year olds; Atoms - 8, 9 & 10; Peewees 11 and 12; Bantams 13 & 14 and Midgets 15 & 16. Coaches included Dom Figliomeni, lan Clark, Don Beno, Walt Klassen, Ray Wilson, Cory Fischer, Joey Kosticki, Jimmy Continued page 20 .... : Environmental Assessment Board NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING WASTE DISPOSAL SITE Township of Terrace Bay The Ministry of the Environment has re- ceived an application by the Township of Terrace Bay for a certificate of approval! for a landfilling site proposed to be lo- cated at Grid Reference 851037, Department of Engergy, Mines and Resources Map entit- led "Schreiber Map 42D/14" approximately five miles west of Terrace Bay, one-half mi le south of Highway 17, south of the Hydro Line in the Township of Terrace Bay. The Environmental Assessment Board will conduct a public hearing to obtain infor- mation and fo hear the views of the public so that it can make recommendations in res -pect of the proposed waste disposal site. Written and oral submissions may be made to the Board at the hearing. - The Board will not consider any submissions regard- ing the proposal after the hearing has been closed.
