A by-law has-also been passed to ensure that use of munici= pal equipment will not be used by private establishments ex~ * cept in emergency situations when no other contractor is avail- able, and then only for a set time period. Fire Chief Ed Stachiw will attend the E.M.0. meeting in Arnprior May 14 - 17th, providing space is available. Reeve Brassard was nominated vice-chairman for the Thunder Bay District at the annual E.M.0, meeting on April 1st. A unique piece of Eskimo sculpture purchased by a public subscription taken up in the communities of Schreiber and Terrace Bay was present- sd to Mr. Stokes and his wife Helen as a token of appreciation SCHOOL NEWS LAKE SUPERIOR PUBLIC SCHOOL HOSTS ORAL COMMUNICATIONS: COMPETI TION: On Wednesday 1978 04 12, students from the Terrace Bay campus and the Schreiber campus of the Lake Superior Public School met in the Terrace Bay gymnasium to select four fina- lists to travel to the divisional "Oral Communications" compe= tition in Marathon 1978 04 19.- Representing Schreiber were James Miller and Sheryl Holmes from the intemediate division and Kara Klassen and Tammy Wal=- ton from the junior division. Representing the Terrace Bay intermediates were Karen Anderson and Rhonda Miller with Eric Samp and Susan Mathew representing the juniors. Topics ranged from the joys of a pet collie to the origins of names. Judging was very close, particularly in the junior division, nevertheless a decision was finally reached. Re- presenting the Lake Superior Public School in Marathon will be; Karen Anderson, Rhonda Miller, Tammy Walton and Eric Samp. Congratulations to all of the contestants and in particular the winners for a job well done.
