WESTERN FINALS - BASKETBALL: On Wednesday, February 23rd and Thursday, February 24th, the Lake Superior Senior boys, senior girls, junior boys, and junior girls basketball teams travelled to Red Rock to participate 'in the NeS.SeSeA.A. western finals, Teams from Geraldton, Nip-Rock and Lake Superior were entered. The junior girls, coached by Holly Smith played some fine games of basketball but were beat out by Nip-Rock 33-11 and Geraldton beat them 27-20 in a close game. = The junior boys coached by Mr. Hanley lost to Geraldton 68-30 and lost to Nip-Rock 35-15. A fine effort was put forth by all members. The senior girls coached by Gail Simmer were victorious in both their games defeating Geraldton 87-7 and Nip-Rock 35-18. The senior boys, coached by Mr. Handy played two really exciting games losing out to Geraldton 42-37 and to Nip-Rock 40-34, The teams and their coaches are to be congratulated on a great job as they put in a lot of extra hours training and coaching. The senior girls will be travelling to Geraldton on March 1st, 2nd and 3rd, to * take part in the N.SeS.S.A.A. finals.
