Mrs. R.L. Belliveau, President chaired the meeting. The Rosary was recited for Vocations prior to the meeting. Convenor reports were read. Community Life Peggy Regis reported that coffee was served after a local funeral. Kitchen Convenor Gertrude Pineault reported that inventory had been taken and the kitchen thoroughly cleaned. Maple Leaf Labels, Rose Dakin has ordered the new Tea Pot. The League will be sending a donation towards the purchase of two milking goats to help the poor of Egypt. The League had decided to purchase one dozen small stacking tables to use for teas and card parties. A new gavol has been: purchased by the League as the old one has been Tost. [t was decided that the C.W.L., would not par- ticipate in the Carnival this year. |t was felt we would hold something at a Tater date. The World Day of Prayer will be held on March 3rd in St. Martin Church. Mrs. Haas has contacted the other churches and Mrs. Ingrid Fournier will be looking after the lunches. The Annual Meeting will be held in April ports and the books must be audited by the end of March. Following the meeting a very interesting slide presentation was shown on Hawaii. Luncheon Convenor was Mrs. Sinotte. A very successful Valentine's tea was held on Feb. 11, 1978 in St. Martin Church basement. Winner of the layer cake was Mrs, Edna Ramsay. The door prize was won by Mrs. Anne Johnston. A good time was had by all. L.A. TO GUIDES & BROWNIES MEETING The February meeting of the Local Association to Guides and Brownies met at the Community Church with Mrs. L. Samp in the chair. The Mother and Daughter banquet which initiated Scout-Guide week was reported on by convenor Vicky Kostiuk. Two casserole di shes are still unclaimed. We are grateful to the men of the Moose Lodge for allowing the use of the Hall. Personalized Easter eggs will be sold by advance orders only. For this year only the Annual Bake Sale date will be changed to April 1st at 9 a.m. at Costa's Store. Cookie Day is scheduled for May 10th. We rely on co-opera- tion of the mothers for all these events. Your help means better Guiding for your daughter. Court on Friday, Feb. 17, 1978. Operating accounts totalling $109,000.00 were passed for payment together with two applications for admission. The 1978 budget of $1, 203, 730.00 for Operating and $49,530. 8 'for Capital was approved. Levies to the 16 Municipalities Will be for $229,991.00 and this will be reduced by a surplus of $46,614.67, which will mean a net to the Municipalities of $183,000.00, Down $12,000.00 from 1977.
