Gifts were exchanged amoung the members. Jackie Sopel dressed as Santa Claus and handed out the gifts. A raffle was held with Minnie Woodruff being the lucky winner, Janet Fowler won the Pot of Gold. Christmas decorations adorned the table and a lovely lunch was served by the Social Service Committees DECEMBER BUSINESS MEETING = Correspondence consisted of many Christmas greeting cards and thank you notes from mem= bers who received cards and gifts while ill. Reports of standing committees were given, Balloting on new candidates was favourable. A donation was given to the T.Be Lung Assoc- iation, Gifts of money were sent to the St. Denis children in Mooseheart. A grocery hamper was given to a needy person for Christmas. JANUARY 3rd - Enrollment of new candidates took places Child Care Chairman Jeannie Tychoniak and her Committee were in charge of the Chapter night Programme. The data on Chapter Rally Day was received from Mooseheart, to be held on March 5. Terrace Bay Chapter will be hostess to Chapters from Fort William, Port Arthur, Dryden, Kenora, Sioux Lookout and Mar- athon. Committees will make plans and preparationse A penny Auction was held with many lovely prizes being won. A delicious lunch was served by the Child Care Committee, Josefa Hirt won the Pot of Golde Volunteers for the Ukranian Dance and the 1,0,0.fe Enrollment supper were asked fore - JANUARY 17th - Balloting on new candidates was favourable. Yvonne Leclair, Jackie Sopel, Marielle Tardif and Helen Almos will be in charge of the Valentine Dance to be held on Feb- ruary 10th, The report of the expenses for the Children's En- | Christmas party was given and they were passed for payment. NICOL: Mr. Melvin Joseph Nicol, age 63 years of Terrace Bay passed away in the hospital on Thursday, January 26th after a lengthy illness. Survived by his wife ; Irene, son Lyle of Ottawa, daughters, Paulette of Toronto, Marcia and Karen, both at home. Also survived by a brother Eugene of Nipigon, and a sister, Lucille of Thunder Bay, Other relatives also surviveds Mre Nicol was an active member of the Knights of Columbus, being installed as a member of the Fourth Degree last spring. He also served as a trustee on the Schreiber, Terrace Bay Roman Catholic School Board, and participated in many community events. Rested at the King's Funeral Home in Schreiber. Requim Mass was held on Monday, January 30th at 1:30 peme from St. Martin Roman Catholic Church.
