-PAGE 8 TERRACE BAY NEWS JANUARY 11, 1978 DEAR CONCERNED CITIZEN: Cont'd from pg. 3... sadly, what I have not seen, is any adults in the games room, not even you, most concern- ed 'citizen. The games room is not a zoo and it is not an ipiguitons den of pot smoking hoodlums. If you want to find out what your children are doing and talking about, take the time to come in, sit, listen and talk. You'll meet your match in Chess, crib or pool... You'll find the conversation interesting and intel- ligent and the music not that bad or that loud. Show them that you do care. To you, concerned citizen, one question, if you felt strong enough to write your article why didn't you have the courage of your convic- tions to sign your name? thank you, Karen Leary Games Room Supervisor (signed) DECEMBER MEETING OF BIRCHWOOD-PINEWOOD AUXILIARY: Christmas arrangements were finalized at the December meeting of Pinewood-Birchwood Aux- iliary when Donna Josus presided on Wednesday evening the 14th. 3 Minutes and the financial statement were read and accounts approved. Members agreed a flowering plant should be sent to the extended care lounge of Pinewood Court with Mrs. Josus attending to it. May Dorland offered to pur- chase plants for any residents hospitalized over Christmas. Mrs. Josus informed the mem- . bers she would deliver the potted plants to residents whose names were remaining on the list from the Tea Draw. ~ Peggy Thompson reported on the Christmas gifts she and Beth Macadam had purchased for the residents Christmas Party. May Dorland and Peggy Thompson attended the party on be- half of the Auxiliary. Hilda Hiebert described the successful Group Story Hour held each morning in Birch- wood Terrace, using the talking book tapes on loan from the C.N.I.B. and with the Terrace Bay Library's tape recorder. Ken MacLeod an- swered questions on this project and advocated the building of their own library of tapes. In so doing anyone convalescing could also en- joy the tapes, or for individual repeats. A motion was passed to purchase one tape record- er.' Estelle Wallwin itemized cards The resignation of Erlise Stephen ident was accepted with regret. The president and Mrs. Hiebert reported on assistance by Elsie Cook and Alma Hart on re- sent out. as Vice-Pres ' auditorium of the theatre, and as the lobby is sidents shopping trips. This is of great help to residents and most popular. The January meeting, was set for Sunday, January 15th at 2:00 p.m., in the Recreation Room of -Birchwood Terrace with the election of officers for the coming year. A nominating committee of Estelle Wallwin and Gertrude Cotton together with Lillian Christie and one other from Schreiber was appointed. In last week's paper from a letter of a @ "concerned citizen" there was a clear inference = that "smoking pot" is freely allowed in. the theatre. We would like to inform this person that, smoking of any kind is not permitted in the W LETTER SUBMITTED TO THE TERRACE BAY NEWS: 3 = 3 always under supervision, pot smoking is not done there. And if this "concerned citizen" 'observed something in the theatre that bothered him or her, he or she was obviously not concerned enough, as he or she did not report it to the management; so as action could be taken. -- Maybe this "concerned citizen" should check on his or her facts before critisizing a busin -ess establishment publicly. (The office in the theatre is always open for a ceasing) We go to great lengths to provide top pic- tures, a quiet atmosphere -and in keeping one of the few evening places in this town. We also have the backbone to sign any state -ments made by ourselves. (signed) Terry & Louise Korzinski ~ Towne Cinema TERRACE BAY, (Man. & N/W Ont.
