Brassard; Councillors M. Hamilton, G. Ramsay and P. Romanuk; Clerk Co-ordinator W. Hanley and M.. Simmer. ; : : The Library Board will be asked to advertise the sale of a surplus calculator, and accept the highest quotation. ? : : he : W. Hanley was authorized to attend the Clerks' Seminar.on Financial Reporting Changes, in Thunder Bay, November 25/77 and Chief W.R. Zroback will attend the Zone Chiefs' meeting in Thunder Bay on November I8/77. Ken MacLeod and Ken Eaton, members of the Planning Committee, with C. Brassard and W. Hanley will attend a Housing Seminar in Marathon on December 3/77. Maintenance of electrical service to the new McCausland Hospital when built, has been re- quested by the Board and this will be done through the Electrical Supt., Don Stewart. Requests by the Canadian National Institute for the Blind for a grant of $250.00, and the Police Dept. for a new radar unit will be tabled until I978 budget time. Building Inspector, S. Lundberg's report noted $600.00 for building permits in October. The following accounts were passed for payment - Township - $316,486.25; Hydro - _.. $26,731.59; Library - $2,II0.45; Recreation - $37,343.49. ; Local residents complained of the annoyance of cats and dogs trespassing on their property They will be advised to contact the Dog Catcher, R. Larson, and the owners of the cats will be provided with the details of the complaint and be requested to consider same. The Curling Club has rejected the new rental rate of $3;I00.00 for I977-78. Council will remain firm on their decision. W. Hanley has been authorized to prepare the necessary by-law authorizing. the Township participation in the Municipal and School Tax Credit Program. Applications for a new landfill site and a derelict motor vehicle site have been submitted to the Ministry of the Environment. : Reeve C. Brassard has proclaimed December 26th, I977 to be a Civic Holiday - "Boxing Day". Council agreed to purchase two Senior Citizen memberships for the Overture Concert Series. Tickets will be left at Birchwood Terrace. After each regular Council meeting a press release will be sent to the Terrace Bay News Office, issued through the Municipal Office. Citizens can now have their ear to the pulse of the Municipal government.
