Charyl Dufoe and Hazel Findlay, at the auxiliary's November meeting. : It was noted that the auxiliary membership is now in the nineties, and ldrge attendance at each regular meeting. The treasurer's report and secretary' s minutes were adopted as read. Amella Webb agreed to act as bingo caller for November. Wendy Martin will be the Poppy chairman. Earline Johnson will be lunch convener for the children's party. The cleaning of the hall has been completed with both new carpet and linoleum completed. A substantial donation to the Branch was made at the November. llth banquet. 2 In response to a request from the Public School, Schreiber campus, Mrs. Davis will talk to the'students about the men from Schrei -ber who during two wars, gave their lives to ensure that their small town could live in peace. 109 MEETING REMEMBRANCE DAY ASSEMBLY On Thursday, November 10, 1977, the stu- dents and staff of Holy Angels School gathered in the gym to commemorate and honour those men and women who so gallantly defended our freedom. Each grade made a presentation of either a song, poem or short essay to help keep alive the memory of these people. Dominic Costa from Grade 8 was M.C. for the occasion. Father A. Schretlen gave a very inspiring talk that the children are sure to remember. BERCHMAN'S ALTAR SOCIETY EXCHANGE GIFTS Christmas came early to the nelbars of the St. Berchman's Altar Society when they had a gift exchange at their meeting on Wednesday evening. Some members are leaving to spend the winter shortly south of the border. Mrs. Felix Legault hested the meeting and the pres- ident Mrs. Pat Leisander chaired the meeting and distributed the gifts from a small decorat- ed tree on a side table. The meeting opened and closed with prayer. Mrs. Schelling read the minutes which were ap- proved as read and circulated the correspon- dence for consideration. Mrs. Felix Legault presented the financial statement which was moved for adoption. A report was hear on the fall house cleaning of the church. The grotto had the summer flo-, wer roots removed and some artificial flowers and greenery substituted for the winter. \ Following adjournment, Mrs. Legault served ) luncheon and a social hour enjoyed. Mr. Peter Doig of Schreiber offered to start | It ] a training program here in fire fighting. was decided that if anyone missed a training lesson unless with a very good reason, they would be fined two dollars for everytime they were absent. Teenagers, men and women signed up as volunteer fire fighters. Quite a lengthy discussion was held on types - of fire extinguishers and smoke detectors. Several of the latter were ordered through Ucano organization. It was noted that the unteer fire fighters would be eligible for pensation if injured while fighting a fire. Further information on this is to be obtained for the next meeting. Mr. Kenney thanked Mrs. Davis for her in- formation given and coming on such a stormy night.
