WEEKLY REPORT GAMES ROOM OPERATION: Numerous applications have been received for the position of Games Room Supervisor, and a final decision was to be made by the Recrea- tion Committee at their November 7th meeting. The Recreation Department hopes to open the Games Room to the general public this week. Hours of operation for the games room will be posted at the games room and at the main bulletin board in the Lounge of the Recreation Centre. GIRL'S YOUTH BASKETBALL PROGRAM: Due to insufficient registrations, the Recreation Department unfortunately had to cancel this program. The boy's youth basketball program however, will continue every Saturday afternoon at St. Martin's School gym. BASIC CAKE DECORATING COURSE: The Recreation Office is pleased to announ- ce that through the co-operation of Confeder- ation College, a basic cake decorating course will be offered in Terrace Bay on December 2nd and 3rd. Advertisements outlining all details will be placed in next weeks news. Anyone interested in this program should contact the Recreation Office to register for the program. (Please note registrations will not be accepted until the advertisement ap- pears in the News next week). INVESTMENT AND PERSONAL TAXATION COURSE: Again through the co-operation of Confeder- ation College, the above week-end course will be offered sometime in January or February '78 TERRACE BAY MEMORIAL ARENA SCHEDULE: We encourage the general public to refer to the arena schedule which will appear.on a week -ly basis in the Terrace Bay News for times of various activities that are scheduled in the arena. As previously advertised, the arena sche- dule which appears in the News is subject to change without notice. LIVE THEATRE COMES TO TERRACE BAY IN MARCH '78 The Terrace Bay Recreation Department is pleased to announce that Live Theatre will be coming to Terrace Bay in March of 1978. The contract with the NDWT Co. has been confirmed and the theatre production of "WACOUSTA" will be presented to Terrace Bay (cont'd pg. 7...) Terrace Bay, Ontario A Membership Tea in Birchwood.Terrace laun= ched the 1977-78 season on Saturday afternoon, for the Birchwood-Pinewood Auxiliary with a gratifying number attending. Individual tables were gaily centred with late fall flowers and a delectable tray of goodies. Residents of Birchwood Terrace immen -sely enjoyed the compnay of the many tea guests, and served by an attentive group of Girl Guides. These young ladies were also kept busy assisting with wheelchairs and seat- ing and generally brithtening the occasion with their presence. Tea prize of a colourful peper plant was won by Janet Fowler. A large number of lovely and varied potted plants given by Donna Josus, were drawn by members of the Girl Guides for presentation to home residents. Visitors were amazed at the variety and quality of crafts made at Birchwood Terrace and which were displayed at a table presided over by Hilda Hiebert, craft instructor. Blanche Speck also displayed the colourful rug made by residents last winter and which ° will be raffled in December. Tea Convenor was Donna Josus.
