TERRACE BAY POLICE ~ DEPARTMENT During the week of October 23rd to 30th the Police department were called upon to in- vestigate a total of twenty-nine occurrences. October 4th, found the police executing a warrant of committal upon a local resident as well as conducting five motor vehicle safety inspections. October 25th - After a continuing investi- gation into the damage suffered by the Police Station window, a local youth was charged with committing this offence. October 26th - Police investigated a dis- turbance caused by discharging a firearm, the sudden death of a local youth and charged one local resident with failing to remain at the scene of a motor vehicle collision. October 27th a N.S.F. cheque fraud charge was laid. October 28th - The following occurrences were investigated. A local resident was charged with impaired driving, a compassionate message was delivered to the construction site, a charge of speeding was laid under the High- way Traffic Act-and a juvenile was dealt with regarding the theft of money from a purse that occurred in early August of this year. October 29th - Police laid two charges un- der the Highway Traffic Act and investigated a disturbance on the beach road. October 30th - The breathalizer owned by this department saw heavy usage as four local residents used same and were subsequently charged with impaired driving and over .08. Mr. Gerald Clement replaced Mr. Des Evans-Smith on November 1st as Manager-of the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce. Directors are Vlado Kiran, Ken MoLeod, Bob Coleman, Joseph Commisso and Dan Rafalant. 5 YEARS AGO - NOVEM, BER 8, 1972 The Minor Hockey Executive held a meeting on November ond in the large meeting room of the Recreation Centre. The Registrar, Mrs. E. Kettle, reported 124 boys have registered for Minor Hockey. The inaugural meeting of the Terrace Bay Advisory Plamn- ing Committee was held with Roy Bray chairing the meeting. Other members are Rolly Sinotte, Grant Puttook, Ken Eaton, Peter Romanuk, Ken MacLeod and Bill Hanley. On Saturday, August I9th, I972 at I:30 p.m. at the Notre Dame' Roman Cathoiic Church, Christine Helen, elder daughter of Mr, and Mrs. Stanley Mischus, exchanged marriage vows with Peter Arthur, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Heenan of Terrace Bay. 1 YEAR AQ - NOVEMBER 10, 1976 The Minister of Health of Ontario, Frank Miller, has endorsed the Seine Flue Immunization Program and it will be made available to residents of Thunder Bay and District. This is not a compulsory program. Attending is simply a matter of choice.
