public Library Terrace Hay, Ont. VOL. 20 NO. 42 NOVEMBER 2, I977 20¢ PER COPY urling comments The Ladies' Semi-Annual Meeting was held on the 25th of October in the Curling Club Lounge. Thirty voting members, several associate members and six prospective new members attended. The timetable of events was announced, areas of Tesponsibliley assigned and committee re- ports presented and accepted. A Summary of the main motions and rules passed is as Por owe, I) Each team entering club play-offs for Northwestern will pay $20. 2) Dues will be $36. (regular) SI8.50 (associate). Payable before first game. 3) Games will be 8 ends but all Northwestern will be IC ends. 4) For the third year teams will be picked at random (out of hat). 5) A curler must play 60% of scheduled games to qualify for prizes. 6) Associate members may not compete in any regular league games where trophies are involved. 7) Afternoon curlers will continué as as- 7" sociate members. 8) Under age I8 may be admitted to regular curling but the Ladies' Bonspiel will be limited to those I8 years and over. 9) A stove, fridge and dishes will be purchased for the kitchen. I0) Tee-line and hog-line rules will be stressed. For afternoon curling contact Ida Romanuk or Sheelagh Hamilton. If you have any queries or problems contact any member of your executive. Dues may be paid to Norma Gusul, Treasurer, and cheques made out to Terrace Bay Ladies' Curling Club. : WOMEN OF THE MOOSE MEETINGS On October 4th, Senior Regent Helen Almos opened the meeting with a good attendance of members present. Enrollment of new candidates took place. Mooseheart Chairman, Denise Lacroix and her committee were in charge of the Chapter night programme. A raffle was held with Jackie Sopel being the lucky winner. valk October I8th Business Meeting .... Balloting on new candidates took place with ballots being favourable. Reports of standing committees were given. Marielle Tardif gave a report on the Convention in Etobicoke, Ontario, where she received her green cap. Marielle thanked all the members for helping to make her trip possible. Alma Hart also attended the Convention where she was an elected princess in the Queen of Sponsors Parade. It was an honour to our Chapter to have Alma elected by Mooseheart for the second year in a row to be a princess. Mooseheart Chariman and her committee served the lovliest lunch. 'The table was decorated in Halloween theme and for lunch there were cookies shaped like pumpkins, witches hats, etc. and a lovely cake decorated in Halloween designs and colours. : WINTARIO GRANT The Township of Schreiber is to receive a grant up to $I2,745 to aid in the costs of in- stalling steel trusses to the Schreiber Citizens Arena as required by the Ministry of Labour.
