NOVERMBER 2, 1977 PAGE 17 "BoC. where he is posted with the R.C.M.P, SORENSON - SPILLANE VOWS EXCHANGED Miss Nancie Spillane, daughter of Mr, and Mrs, John Spil- lane of Schreiber, sxchanged vows of marriage with Terry Sorenson, son of Mrs, Ruth Sorenson of Edmonton, Alberts on October 8th in St. Andrew's United Church in Schreiber. The Rev, Brian Bigelow officiated at the double ring ceremony, 'with lynn Drake as organist and Sharon McKenzie as soloist. The Bride, given in marriage by her father, was gowned in silk jersey and chantilly lase., A high collar of silk with a sheer yoke and lace appliques on the fitted bodice, the waistline outlined with a silk cummerbund and the lovely lace was inserted in the camelot sleeves caught to deep lace cuffs. The long skirt swept into a train edged with pearl embroidered lace and her three-quarter, four tier veil of illusion tulle, ite capped edge embroidered with pearls was caught to a lace and pearl capulst. She carried a cascade of garnet roses and stephanotis, The Bride was attended by Barbara Spadoni, as Maid of Honour and Colleen Gauthier as Bridesmeid, They were dressed alike in floor length slebveless white polyester gowns figured in red and white, carrying flower arrangements similiar to the the Bride's in red and white, Nicole Gauthier, the flower girl, wore a red long frock with white bib and carried a nose- gy of red and white flowers, Scott Spillane, nephew of the Bride, the.ring bearer, wore a miniature R.C.M.P. uniform. The Groom and his attendants, Bill Klassen and Raymond Kobsey - all of the R.C.M.P, wore their welking out order, complete with medals and decorations. The wedding dinner, in the United Church Hall, was begun with Grece said by the Rev, Brian Bigelow, followed by the Toast to the Bride, by her uncle Jack Handel, Bill Klassen proposed the toast to the Bride's attendants. Brian Bigelow received his Master of Divinity degree. ' BIRCHWOOD BINGO: Three members of the Terrace Bay Kinettes went to Birchwood Terrace on October 27th, to host a Bingo. for the residents at 7 p.m. Fourteen senior citizens enjoyed the ten games of bingo and the winners were: Mr. Black (two games), Mrs. Yvonne Bourguignon, Marie Legarde, Walter Danio (three games), Marion. Trussler, Mathew Coaster and Gus Sjoblom. The residents were assisted by Susan Mason, Cathy Jo Wallwin. We hope to entertain the residents with at least one bingo per month. SCHREIBER CURLING CLUB: Officers for the Schreiber Curling Club for this year are: Joe Figliomeni, president; Alex Krystia, vice president; John St. Amand, treasurer: Ladies - Charlotte Miller, presi- dent; Edna Cocks, vice president; Gladys Anderson, secretary-treasurer. Regular curl- ing began on November lst. : CHIMO CLUB: Twenty five members attended the October meeting of the Chimo Club with Helen Wallace presiding. Final arrangements were made for the Christmas bazaar, on November 5th. Prices on a shuffleboard for the club will be checked and times and dates for afternoon. and evening card games will be discussed. A box of labels received from the Terrace Bay Community Church were appreciated. All sick and shut-in members have been visited. 3 An afghan donated by Anne Todesco will be raffled on December I6th. Following the meeting there was a penny auction and the Halloween party. Costume prizes were won by 'Nim' Wallace and Gordon McCuaig, Helen Wallace and Beth Macadam. Initiation of officers will take place at the November 18th meeting, followed by a socia. evening with a pot luck lunch. a »
