Mrs. Josus had a great many plants started for the presentation to Birchwood Terrace : Permission was granted to purchase flower pots as required and these plants will be drawn for during the Tea. Residents may leave their name at the office if they wish to participate in this draw. The C.W.L. President, Lillian Belliveau listed their forthcoming events and any resi- dent wishing to attend would be given transpor ~tation. Their members had also volunteered to assist in individual mending for the resi- dents if required. Ken MacLeod noted the Schreiber Kinsmen had promised $750. in support of audio-visual aids for Birchwood Terrace. It was hoped this could be added to sufficiently to warrant a Wintario grant. Mr. MacLeod explained the many types of audio-visual aids, talking books, etc., required and Betty Cruickshank noted one resident was already using this service, with books received regularly through the C.N.I.B. or Regional Library. Gertrude Cotton was elected to fill the vac ancy of secretary and Estelle Wallwin to re- place her as Sick and Visiting Convenor. The November meeting will be held on the 9th at 2:00 p.m. in Birchwood Terrace. MEGRAW - PARENT NUPTIALS A wedding of local interest was solemnized' on September 10th in Pointe Claire, Quebec. Judith Irene Parent eldest daughter of Mrs. Lillian Parent and the late John Parent of Schreiber, was united in Holy Matrimony to Stanley Robert Megraw, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Willian Megraw of Terrace Bay. The double ring ceremony was solemnized by 'Rev. Fr. Shibley at 4 p.m. in St. John's Church Pointe Claire, Quebec. The Bride was attired in a long white gown of silky polyester interlock knit with a long train, fitted bodice and a V neckline trimmed with beaded pearls, The V neckline was extend -ed with lace trimmed with beaded pearls to fi snugly around the neck with a cowl collar. od long sleeves were trimmed with maribou. Her waist length veil was held in place with a Juliette cap also of lace and trimmed with bead -ed pearls. She carried a cascade of red roses. : : The Bridesmaid, Mrs. Judy Gough of Pointe Claire, wore a rose coloured long gown of silky polyester interlock knit. The dress had a fit- ted bodice, short sleeves and full knife edge pleats. She carried a nosegay of pink and white daisies. The Groom was attended by Robert Ross, also of Pointe Claire, Quebec. Following the ceremony, a reception was held in the Bridal couple's home in Dollard Des Or- meaux, Quebec, where a buffet luncheon was served. Telegrams were received during the reception. The Bridal couple honeymooned in their home towns of Schreiber and Terrace Bay. On their return trip they visited in Sudbury. A rehearsal party was held in the home of her Bridesmaid, Mrs. Judy Gough and her hus- band, Allan. A post nuptial community shower was held for the Bride in the United Church basement, host- ed by Mrs. Doris Gauthier and Mrs. Betty Huard and their committee in Schreiber. The Bride and Groom reside at 32 Alie, Dollard Des Ormeaux, Quebec. Born to Mr. and Mrs. Robert Roberts, of Terrace Bay, a girl on October 12th.
