PAGE 8 TERRACE BAY NEWS OCTOBER 13, 1977 BURTCH ~ MIKUS VOWS EXCHANGED : Terrace Bay Community Church was the setting for the marriage of Sheila Mauresn Mikus, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Mikus, of Terrace Bay, and Peter John Burtch, son of Mr, and Mrs, Jack Burtoh, of Midland, on Saturday, August 27th. Rev, Brian Bigelow officiated at the double ring oeremony and Mrs, Ellen Hodgkiss was the organist. Matron of Honour was the bride's sister, Mrs, Patricia Merkley. Miss Kathleen Burtch, "sister of the Groom, and Miss Susan Scott were bridesmaids, The Groom was attended by John Longlade. James Mikus and Beverly Clark, A family dinner, followed by a reception, dance and midnight buffet was held at the Masonies Hall. Following a wedding trip to Winnipeg, the couple took up residence in Thunder Bay. Prior to the wedding the Bride was feted at a shower hosted by Miss Susan Scott in her home and the Bride and Groom were honoured at a party arranged by the staff of Neys Provincial Park, Relatives and friends from out of town attending the wedding and reception were:Mrs, A. Nominated for the position of president were Bruce Lang, Cheryl Moore and Trish Paukstys; ¢ and for treasurer Carolea Kenney and Jill Ped- erson. Following an intense election campaign Bruce Lang was elected President with the posi-/- ~tion of vice-president going to Trish Paukstys who was runner-up. Jill Pederson won the posi ~tion of Treasurer in a close race with Carolea * Kenney. The position of secretary and Council -lor (8 positions) were filled by acclamation.
