PAGE 14 TERRACE BAY NEWS OCTOBER 13, 1977 RUBY REBEKAH: The Charter was draped, at the September 28th meeting of Ruby Rebekah Lodge, #279, in memory of the late Mrs. Aetna Bumstead, past president of the Rebekah Assembly of Ont- ario, who died July 22, 1977. Mrs. Winnie Clemens reported sending cards and flowers to Mrs. Lily Wilson and Mrs. Victoria Winters, both in Terrace Bay Hospital. Mrs. Eirene Harness presented the semi- annual report of the property committee. Mrs. Winnie Clemens, V.G. acted as Noble Grand, for the meeting, with Mrs. Dora Weaver as V.G. and Mrs. Jean Fischer as secretary. Members were reminded that the installation of new officers will be carried out at the October meeting by the district deputy presi- dent, Loretta Sinclair and her installing team of Topaz Lodge, Thunder Bay. Preceding the meeting a supper will be en- joyed in the Town Hall at 6 p.m. The commit- tee for this meal will be Georgina Davis, Winnie Clemens, Lilyan Christie, Helen D'Arcy, Alice Sparkes and Bernice Jacomb. The meeting ended with a Bring-and-Buy sale followed by a social hour. / TERRACE BAY POLICE DEPARTMENT 7 TO 10TH OCTOBER: 4 : During the period of 7-10 October, the Ter- race Bay Police Force was called upon to inves- tigate sixteen occurrences. On October 7th, police began investigation into a complaint of forgery as a forged cheque had been tendered at a local business establish -ment. Also, on October 7th, police were called to investigate an accident on the Beach Road in the vicinity of the beach. A vehicle driven by Stephen Gorham was westbound in the vicinity of the lake and struck a tree resulting in approximately $300.00 in damages. On October 9th, a vehicle driven by Marvin Kerrel of Winnipeg was westbound and towing a car when the vehicle went out of control on the Aguasabon bridge and rolled over causing approximately $1,500.00 in damages to both "vehicles. Kerrel was 'charged with impaired driving and driving a motor vehicle with over .08 mgs of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood. Also on October 9th, police investigated an accident on Elizabeth Street when a vehicle driven by Wayne Gorman-of Thunder Bay struck a parked car owned by David Mercier of Nipigon.
