OCTOBER 13, 1977 TERRACE BAY NEWS PAGE 9 PRESENTATION MADE TO LONG DISTANCE RUNNER Peggy Helmink, on 'behalf of the Town- ship of Terrace Bay presented to New Zealand's renowned long distance runner, Max Telford, a lapel pin and a letter to be presented to the mayor of Halifax upon TE his arrival there. Max began his run in Anchorage, Alaska on July 24th and expects to be in Halifax, Nova Scotia on November 4th. The Trans Canadian run, a total of 5,166 miles is the longest run ever attempted by man. While this run is Max's biggest challenge, it isn't his first.
