PAGE 8 TERRACE BAY NEWS SEPTEMBER 28, 1977 BASTEDO = SUQ_VOWS EXCHANGED On a beautiful, sunny day, in an outdoor garden wedding, Darlene Gayle Suo became the bride of William F. Bastedo, on August 6th, 1977. Officiating at the double ring eeremony wes Rev. John Nelson of Emanuel Lutheran, Nipigon. The Bride was given in marriege by her brother Garry Lloyd Suo of Toron- to. The Bride is the daughter of Mrs, Aldona Josus of Terrace Bay and the Groom is the son of Mr, and Mrs. D.E. Bastedo of Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. The Bride was radiant in a white floor length gown with flowing train and shoulder cape edged in chantilly lace. The off the face, shoulder length veil was fashioned of matching lace and she carried a cascading bouquet of organze sweetheart roses with white stephanatis and baby's breath. ° The Bride's attendants were maid of honour, sister Leslie Josus and bridesmaid Leslie Thompson of Sudbury. They both wore identical silk jersey gowns of sunset yellow with petal sleeves and carried nosegay's of organza sweetheart roses and feathered white mums, Attending the Groom was best man Gregory Coldwell of St. John's Nfld. and Terry O'Neill of Terrace Bay. The Bridal party gowns were made by the Bride's mother with the assistance of her daughter Leslie, who also looked after the decorations of house, hall and cars. Following the ceremony, refreshments were served outdoors, while numerous snapshots were taken in the garden and at the Aguasabon Gorge. For the wedding the Bride's mother wore & sea green silk Jersey gown with floral chiffon cape accented with yellow roses oorsage. The (Groom's mother was charming in a pink rcrepe gown with matching long-sleeved jacket enhansed by a corsage of sweetheart roses. Garry Suo acted as master of ceremonies introducing the head table and reading telegrams and phone calls from friends who could not attend. A toast to the Bride was proposed by Mr, Verle Thompson with humourous events in her teenage life, The guest book was circulated by Miss Jane Colby Hara of Terrace. Serving at the dinner was Mrs. Rhea Beaulieu and Mrs. Joyce Mercier. Assisting at the bar were Mr, Clem Lemay and Mrs, Elaine Zwir. The music was by Partie Sound. oo The 3 tiered wedding cake was decorated in white with yellow roses, It was cut and served by the Bride and Groom during the reception, i On their honeymoon trip to the Maritime Provinces, the Bride wore a fashionable grey-checked three peice pant suit with matching blouse and neckerchief. Prior to the wedding the Bride was feted at showers held in her honour by Mrs. Thelma Nerthoott, Mrs. Audrey Hama, Mrs, Steffie Dorman and Mrs, Bonnie O'Neill. The Groom was honoursa at a stag held by Mr. Gregory Coldwell and Mr, Mike Brown and attended by his co-workers and friends, Out of town guests were Mr, and Mrs, D.E. Bastedo with daugh- ters Judy and Carolyn Adamski of Dartmouth, N.S.; Mr. Robert Tupmt of Edmonton; Miss Susan Graham of Teronto; Miss Debbie Weaver of Elliott Lake and Mr. and Mrs. Bruno Einats and Joey, Mr. and Mrs, Art Jung, Mrs, Marg Aho, Mr, R. Brown, Mr. Rick Wyle and Mrs, Helen Howe of Thunder! NOTES FROM YOUR HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY: " During August a panel of judges selected the winners of the Home Beautification Contest sponsored by Kimberly-Clark of Canada Ltd. First prize winners were Mr. and Mrs. E.. McAdam, 510 Lakeview Drive. Second prize was awarded to Mr. and Mrs. R. Gerlach, 529 Lake- view Drive and third prize to Mr. and Mrs. T.
