AUGUST 17, 1977 TERRACE BAY NEWS PAGE 9 LADIES GOLF CLUB NEWS: The llth Annual Ladies Open'was most successful, with sixty-five entries, the lar - gest number in the history of the Club. Ladies attended from the Kenogamis Golf ' Club, Geraldton; Peninsula Golf Club, Mara- thon; Chapples Golf Course, Fort William Golf and Country Club, Starthcona Golf Course and the Municipal Golf Course, Thunder Bay. Prizes were awarded to the following golfers: Annette-Durica - Low Gross (82) and trophy winner; Audrey Dick - Low Net (67). "A" Division winners were: Low Gross - Helen Shanks, Low Net =- Mary Kideres, Runner-up Low Gross = Leslie Durham, Runner-up Low Net - Edna Edmonds. "B" Division winners: Low Gross - Jean Megraw, Low Net - Jan Hall, Run- ner-up Low Gross - Audrey Orzeck, Runner-up Low Net - Rhea Beaulieu. "C" Division winners] Low Gross =- Isabel Renaud, Low Net - Sylvie Kurvits, Runner-up Low Gross --- Jean Gordon, Runner-up Low Net = Vera Waller. Longest drive and closest to the hole on |. No. 2 were both won by Leslie Durham; Guess Your Own Score - Betty Capstick; Most Improved Colfer - Elsie Auger; Most Honest Golfer - . Eleanor Pineault; Low Hole - Barbara Horth. The winner of the $50.00 Bond draw was Rose Dika, Thunder Bay. Special thanks to the following for their help in making our open a tremendous event: Baxter Insurance Agency - K. Mikus; Township of Terrace Bay. Other recent Club tournaments held were: The Hiram Walker - Low Net Trophy, which Rhea Beaulieu won for the third year in a row. The Board of Directors Low Net Trophy was won by Jean Megraw. HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY HOME BEAUTIFICATION This years Home Beautification Contest prizes will be: 1st - $100.00; 2nd - $75.00; 3rd - $50.00; three "honourable mentions" - $25.00 each.
