PAGE 8 TERRACE BAY NEWS JUNE 8, 1977 TERRACE BAY POLICE DEPARTMENT 30 MAY TO 5 JUNE 1977: : During the period 30 May to 5 June, the Terrace Bay Police investigated thirty-two occurrences. A break, enter and theft was reported at the Moose Lodge and a quantity of liquor was stolen. -Investigation is continuing into this matter. Two gauges were stolen from Petry- Chem valued at $200.00. These gauges were used for oxygen-acetylene and were in new condition. On June 2nd, two fourteen year old girls were checked by police and it was learned that they were run-a-ways from a training school. Both girls were turned over to the juvenile authorities and returned to training school. One theft of auto was reported stolen from Terrace Heights and later. recovered in the vicinity of Highway 17 and the dump road. Ex- tensive damage resulted to this vehicle when the driver struck some guide rail posts. In- vestigation is continuing into this theft. One case of possession of stolen property was investigated and this matter was cleared - with no charges being laid. As a result of police checks, one impaired driver was apprehended and charged. Once in- side the police office, the motorist failed to provide a sample of breath and was' charged with this offence also. One case of willful damage was reported when a local motorist had his windsheild smashed. Police are investigating the matter further. Police are also investigating the dangerous use of a firearm when a juvenile boy was struck on the arm with a pellet while walking in the vicinity of the swimming pool. : One local youth was charged with consuming liquor in a place other than a residence. The following charges were laid under the Highway Traffic Act.of Ontario: 1 - No helmet on a motorcycle, 2 = No valid plate on a motor -cycle, 2 - fail to produce evidence of insur- ance for motorcycle, 1 - No motorcycle endorse -ment on driver's licence.
