The minutes of the French Language Advisory Committee meeting and the Maintenance Commit- tee meeting were acknowledged. On the basis of recommendations by the Main- tenance Committee, it has been decided to do some paving around the Lake Superior High School (Schreiber Campus) and also around the Marathon Public School. The list of disbursements in the total a- mount of $354, 623.90 for the month of April, 1977 were approved. The following resignatic as were accepted with regret, effective 1977 08 31: Mr. Milan Vukovic, Lake Superior High School; Mrs. Linda , Grice, Manitouwadge High School; Miss Paula Minns, Manitouwadge Public School. The Board approved the following appoint- ments, effective 1977 09 01: Mrs. Patricia Pierce as Junior Teacher at the Manitouwadge Public School; Mr. Laurie Fraser as French Teacher at the Lake Superior High School. Mr. J. Bishop, Principal of the Lake Super- ior Public School, reported to the Board that the parents in both Terrace Bay and Schreiber indicated a wish for the establishment of Pre- Kindergarten classes. The Board was sympathe- tic to the reguest and Pre-Kindergarten clas- ses will, therefore, begin in both Terrace Bay and Schreiber in September, 1977. Vandalism: The Director of Education made a report on the amount of vandalism in the schools in this system and the cost to taxpayers. It was agreed that the Trustees in each municipa- lity should meet with the local Trustees from the North of Superior Roman Catholic Separate { School Board and with the Councillors of each municipality to examine the recommendations made in the report of the Director of Education and bring back their findings to the Fegulap meeting of the Board in June. The Hargraft Trust Fund: A Trust Fund in the amount of $15,000.00 from monies received from the Hargraft Estate has been established to pro -vide financial awards for the students of Man- itouwadge High SChool. An Awards Advisory Com- mittee is to be established annually to deter- mine the awards and make recommendations for modifications to the fund. Mr. R. Kirkpatrick outlined the highlights of the recent trip to Southern Ontario and into Michigan by the Grade 13 students of Manitou- wadge High School. To page 3 ..... 4 i 5 -
