COACHES AND UMPIRES URGENTLY REQUIRED: In order to operate various leagues in the Minor Ball programme, a number of coaches and umpires are required. If you are willing to give of your time (one or two hours a week for six weeks), why not call the Recreation Office and leave your name, phone number and the cap- acity in which you would like to assist. The registration form also has provision for sign- ing your name and indicating where you would like to help out. TENNIS: Both tennis nets have been installed and again we would ask anyone using the tennis courts to report any problems or damage to the Recreation Office as quickly as possible. The tennis courts are made available for your use - please use them properly. COMING EVENTS: Women's Fastball - A women's fastball team is being organized. Contact Ruth Deutscher at 3705 if you are interested in playing. Every Tuesday Morning - A morning out for wom--- en of all faiths = 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. in the 'basement of the Community Church. Enjoy a cup of coffee while sharing ideas on crafts, cooking, etc. A play area is provided for children. Wednesday, May 4th - Seminar on "Crisis and Grieving" by Rev. Saturday, May 7th - McCausland Hospital Annual Ball "A TOUCH OF SPRING" Terrace Bay High School, 9:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. EDUCATION WEEK AT LAKE SUPERIOR PUBLIC SCHOOL As part of Education Week (April 17 - 23) Lake Superior Public School held two major ac--- tivities - Open House, Tuesday, April 19, and an Oral Communications Festival, Wednesday, April 20. At the Open House, parents, students and teachers were involved in various activities such as Science, Math, Physical Education and Creative Poetry sessions. In keeping with the theme for Education Week, "Growing With Dignity", discussions and slide presentations were also held. The Kindergarten students and their parents were involved in various activities including the making of bread. The second half of the evening was taken up with the campus run-offs for the Oral Communica -tions Festival to be held the following even- ing. ; 5 On Wednesday, April 20, the Lake Superior Public School Oral Communications finals were held. Representing the Terrace Bay Campus were Andrew Gorham, Geoffrey Gorham, Karen Anderson and Allyson Payette. Tizy Hartmann, Gene Hart- mann, Shannon Riley and Art Roen spoke for the Schreiber Campus. Winners were as follows: Junior - Karen Anderson, Lizy Hartmann. Intermediate - Geoffrey Gorham and Gene Hartmann. A special thanks goes to the judges. for the evening - Mrs. J. Nugent, T. Hanley, T. Quinton and W. Morrill who served as timer.
