PAGE 6 TERRACE BAY NEWS MARCH 30, 1977 TERRACE BAY POLICE DEPARTMENT REPORT "MARCH 20 - 26 On March 20, a juvenile was charged with Break and Enter after police observed the ¥= i youth in a private residence which he had broken into. ° > One motor vehicle collision was investigat- ed on March-2lst with damage estimated at $1,200. One vehicle driven by Clement Begin was stopped on the Mill Road and was struck from the rear by a vehicle driven by Denis Mahoney of Thunder Bay. A charge of careless driving was laid in this instance. On March 22nd, police investigated a Break and Enter at the High School. It is not known if anything was stolen at this time. Inves- tigation continues into this matter. Police investigated a minor vehicle col- lisdon on the Simcoe Plaza. A vehicle driven by Terrance Vezina reversed from a parking stall and struck a vehicle being driven by John Megarg of London, Ontario. Damage amount -ed to $300.00 and a charge of failing to yield was laid. On the same date police were called upon to investigate another vehicle collision.: A vehicle owned by John Dorland was stopped on Lakeview drive and was struck by a vehicle driven by Alan Dorland. Damage is estimated at $1,200.00. Also on this date a local resident was charged with failing to provide evidence of insurance. On March 23rd, a Thunder Bay resident was charged with failing to yield the right of way as he turned in front of oncoming traffic. This driver was also served with a suspension notice and his drivers licence was confiscat- ed. . ; March 24th saw more wilful damage to the Recreation Centre when two windows were broken again. The police department has increased their patrols of the Recreation Centre in an effort to curb some of this vandalism. Anyone found damaging Recreation Centre property in any way will be severely dealt with according to law. Three drivers were Phargea with speeding and another driver was charged with having liquor readily available in his vehicle. Approximately $3,000.00 in oxygen Acetalyne equipment was stolen from Petro-Chem Projects Ltd. Police are continuing their investiga- tion into this matter. The police have in their possession three bicycles which were turned into the office during the winter and late fall.
