Wright, Royal Canadian, Legion Correspondant for North Western Ontario; Gordon Kyle, Labatts' Repre- sentative, who sponsor the District #8 Royal Canadian Legion Curling Tournament, all of Thunder Bay; Norman Daniel, Zone #82 Commander and his wife Evelyn, President of the Ladies Auxiliary Branch #123 Marathon; Mike Campbell and his wife Marg, secretary of Ladies Auxil- iary Branch #123 Marathon; Alex Tweedie, President of Branch #183 Geraldton; Mrs. Doris Green, Mrs. Adeline Green, Aili Jackson, Kay Parker, Aune Parker, Bill and Marie Hemhruff of Kakabeka; Stuart and Fran Parker, Vera and Jim Yound, Red Rock. A Banquet and Dance was held on Saturday night, with music supplied by George Churney and his band. Sunday morning saw a huge crown at the Curling Club to see the finals played. Some excellent curling was witnessed, with Gerald- ton emerging the winners, having three wins and no losses. Following these final games an open lunch was served at the Legion Hall. Afterwards presentations were made by Gordon Kyle, Lab- atts' Representative to all the teams compe- ting. He was assisted by James Adams, Dis- trict #8 Deputy Commander. Geraldton received bulova gold watches and travelling bags, The other teams received silver tankards or a travelling bag. Peter Kovac, District #8 Commander ended tHe day with thanks to the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #223 for their very generous hospitality throughout the weekend. COMMUNITY CHURCH NEWS: - During the Service on Sunday, February 6th, Rev. Brian Bigelow baptized Miss Cheryl Ann Wallwin, infant daughter of Cathy Jo and Robert Wallwin Jr. Attending the Baptism were Mr. and Mrs. Robert Wallwin Sr. and Mr. and Mrs. Reg Cotton, grandparents; Mr. and Mrs. Mark Caccamo, Godparents and Mr. and Mrs. Dale Willoughby of Thunder Bay. The new families who attended the Commun- ity Church were welcomed at a friendship hour following the Sunday Service, February 13th. Coffee and cake were served by Mesdames May Dorland and Rena McAdam. .Everyone enjoyed the informal gathering. On Sunday, February 20th, Rev.
