The 4 first week in January one yesr ago, the present management > of the "News", with some trepidation, presented to its \ readers their first issue: The "News" was first published by Long Lac Pulp and Paper Co. in November, 1946 - which LY mekes it just over fifteen years old. In July, 1958 it emerged as a private enterprise with the office located in the Post Office Building. The bride is the former Connie Smith of Dartmouth. 5 YEARS ACO - JANUARY 6, 1972 ; : The three Terrace Bay schools had a "surprise visitor" recently: a large, live Snowy Owl which was loaned out by Harold Kodila of the Terrace Bay Lands and Forests Office. The owl had been found at the Schreiber dump, un- able to fly and being attacked by ravens, and was brought to the lands and Forests Office. STORK CLUB: Born to Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Stuart of .
